Carpoint0510071 Steering Wheel Belt-Lock - Red

When I opened the box, the immediate thought was "this is going to be too short" - but (doubting Thomas that I am) I did what the instructions said and looped the lock around the lower left of the steering wheel and then pulled the locking part to the seatbelt socket. To mu surprise, the lock reached O.K. I have a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and the Belt-Lock is not under strain but is nicely "tight" (if that is the right word) - there is no strain on the steering wheel nor the seat belt hook.My car has a built-in alarm and an in-car CCTV which comes on if the car is tampered with and, in addition, a tracker device. This is a great visual deterrent as a tea-leaf may not see the warning stickers on the windows at night.If a thief wants to steal your car, he will. The lock looks well made, but the casing is plastic and I expect a few well aimed hits may split it. However, this is a great deterrent and someone looking through the window will see it and hopefully move on to easier pickings. I am extremely pleased with the purchase and would recommend it as an add-on to help avoid losing your car.

Have had this for about 18 months now and generally it is absolutely fine and works well. Sturdy construction. BUT the key/lock has recently become VERY difficult to operate and is VERY hit and miss. Today I really worked up some perspiration struggling with it, plus of course there is the worry of not being able to get it unlocked. Do not expect to have to carry a pair of bolt cutters in the car !!Naturally enough it has got particularly bad the past few days just as I am about to set off on a long trip. Will not be using this any more but until I decide what to buy I will merely place it in position so that it LOOKS locked and will hopefully be a visual deterrent.All in all I am disappointed as I only use it a few times a week (retired--limited mileage) and I suppose its a sign of the times that stuff just isn't made to last.

Bought this for the value and easy of use. It does fit any vehicle. Quality is good for the lead but where it fails is the lock. It fits into the seatbelt ok but it feels poorly made. Lastly when you pull the key out it feels abit stiff and you have to use abit of force to pull out the key. Again this is the reflection of the price and the quality. Finally i am still using it if it gives thieves an extra few minutes to steal a car.

This is a really clever wheel lock, and very easy to use. Very good quality materials and feels well made.

I wanted a simple visible deterrent that was not bulky like many steering locks ( where do you put them when not in use) and would be to hand when needed - I was travelling in Europe where a colleague had warned of car theft by key Cloning of my model of car. This is a simple visible deterrent and can be stored to hand under the seat of in glove box , quick to fit and remove.

Finally a steering lock you can bend and fit in your glove box etc. The lock itself seems fairly strong/solid and as the cable is quite thick & bendy I think it'll be harder to cut through. Very pleased with the level of security I hope it provides.
