We have a 12 year old B & Q dehumidifier which works very well but is really noisy, it sits in the conservatory and is used to dry the washing, I wanted something less noisy but just as effective for upstairs where we have a damp problem during the winter. The Lowery LDH1001 has a very good extraction rate, on full power it fills its container in about 12 hours (winter time so bound to be lower). The machine has some other handy features too, such as a timer, a digital humidity level control and 'silent mode' for night time use. Mostly we run it on silent mode as the fan does produce quite a roar, which is still plenty audible on this quieter setting. The unit is equipped with casters which are actually a nice touch as you can easily move it around without having to lift the whole machine, which is just as well because refridgerant based dehumidifiers like this are quite heavy. It looks neat and quite stylish and so far I'm pleased with it.

Excellent in my Living room for keeping the damp mold from forming. Had a major problem with it. The room is a lot warmer in winter. Couldn't believe how much humidity we had, and how much water it removed. Compact and very quiet, especially in "Night Mode". Well worth the money. Easy to move around with the wheels.

Great little dehumidifier! Is VERY quiet (silent mode not needed) looks nice and high quality, and works quickly. I'm glad to have this around for laundry days.

We needed a replacement dehumidifier for drying clothes and keeping the basement damp under control. I had never heard of this brand but was attracted by the low dB rating for the noise generated. The cost was about comparable with the others in the range so I took a chance and couldn’t be happier. It is a solid, well built piece of kit.The buttons are satisfyingly robust and it is easy to understand the operation. The wheels are neat and make it easy to roll from room to room and the carry handles are neatly positioned and make it comfortable to carry. The draw is machined accurately and fits perfectly with a good solid ‘click’ when in position. Only slight difficulty is seeing the water level measure which is used to check how full the machine is - a small gripe to be honest.It manages to extract circa 7l of water from the air in our house every 24 hours which is about twice as efficient as my old unit. We run this 24/7 now as it is quiet enough not to disturb our sleep. I would buy this machine / brand again.

So far so good, I have been running this dehumidifier continuously for three days in a damp basement. I have emptied the collecting draw four times which demonstrates that it is doing its job! I read reviews carefully before buying so here are some thoughts:Noise: okay it is in the basement so I don't hear it all the time but I would say it is relatively quiet given the power. It is on a par with a desk fan turned up to max.Design: Not beautiful but perfectly acceptable, exactly what I would expect! A few reviewers commented on its heavy weight, I can carry it up and down stairs relatively easily but it might not be suitable if you want something super portable.Build quality: it has a reassuring solidness, the water tray clicks in neatly and it appears well put together.Instructions: I was up and running in about 10 mins, it is a straightforward unit to use. My criticism is that there is an ioniser button - yet no reference at all in the instruction manual about what this is or when it should be used! Certainly not enough to detract a star but a little odd.Overall I am very pleased, this unit does exactly what it needs to do. The price was good, some similar units were twice the price and I can't imagine they are twice as good.

Decent enough product, especially for the money.I don't find it particular good at drying washing, but I didn't buy it for that reason.Seems to work pretty well, at removing moisture, from my kitchen.

This is the best dehumidifier we have ever owned. It wheels around really easily. It's easy to use and very effective. We have it in our kitchen, which is being renovated and in the last couple of months it has dried out the damp and stopped the regrowth of black mould. It is a bit noisy when it is nearly full, but the display on the top tells you how full it is. It also peeps when it is full and the red indicator light lights too. We have it on automatic mode all the time and it stops if the moisture level drops to normal.

Not a bad little dehumidifier, not as good as my other dehumidifier made by inventor, unfortunately the smaller inventor I wanted was out of stock so opted for this one,does it's job well so would recommend although it's only suitable to cope with one room, in my case the sitting room
