This is a 24 inch x 36 inch x 0.12 inch, scratch resistant see-through acrylic mirror. It can be used to make a smart mirror, an infinity mirror, for surveillance, for theatrical applications, or whatever else you can think of. This kind of mirror is also known as a two-way mirror or sometimes as a one-way mirror. It is made of acrylic which is naturally shatter resistant, making a safer alternative to glass.FAQ:1. What is a two-way mirror?A two-way mirror is coated with a thin, almost-transparent layer of metal. The result is a mirrored surface that reflects some light and is penetrated by the rest. Light always passes equally in both directions. However, when one side is brightly lit and the other is dark, the darker side becomes difficult to see from the brightly lit side because it is masked by the brighter reflection of the lit side.2. How do you clean it safely? (SR)The reflective side doesn't have a protective coating, so avoid wiping it with anything if possible. To decrease the need to clean the reflective side, face the non-reflective side outward. The non-reflective side has protective coating and can handle some wear and tear.Cleaning suggestions for the non-reflective side:Use a completely clean microfiber cloth together with Zeiss 50% isopropyl alcohol. Or, if you are able to, an even better option is Novus 1 Plastic Clean & Shine together with Novus Polish Mates or Kimwipes (all of which you can get on desertcart).3. How do you cut it?The acrylic can be cut, but be careful not to damage it. I recommend leaving the protective covering on the mirror until you finish cutting and even then you may still damage the mirror in the process. You can use a plexiglass cutting tool, a razor blade, a dremmel, or a laser cutter. For a plexiglass cutting tool or a razor blade, use a straight edge and do 6-10 passes cutting all the way to the edge of the acrylic.

But I think if you're going to make something for your house that you intend to use daily, or for a gift, spend the money on a quality peice of acrylic. It tends to bow out, like it's falling out of the frame, but when I have time I plan on fixing the frame so it stays in place. Make sure you have your measurements right!! This ultimate smart mirror was a perfect solution. I unbezeled a hp EliteDisplay S230tm. And got a mini hp EliteDesk. A shadow box that was 3inches deep, and this piece of acrylic. Its been a headache, but its so worth it!!

- The scratch resistant version has a coating that protects the non-reflective side of the mirror. The side with this scratch resistant coating should hold up to some wear and tear. Be sure to face the non-reflective side in the direction that receives the most wear. The side with reflective coating can be damaged easily, so avoid wiping it with anything if you can. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for any magic mirror project

This arrived in a giant box! I was so worried it was going to be broken, but it was very very bubble wrapped inside. It arrived in perfect condition. I made a huge magic mirror for a class project, and it worked out great! It's thick, but yes, you can see through it. I really enjoyed working on this project! Ended up getting a B in the class (aww ysss)! And yes, I know it's expensive. Trust me I did quite a bit of looking around and almost bought something cheap. But I think if you're going to make something for your house that you intend to use daily, or for a gift, spend the money on a quality peice of acrylic. The company even reached out to me to make sure everything was ok when it arrived. Spend the money, it's seriously worth it! Warning!! I suggest working with something a bit smaller though if you don't have the right kind of frame (like me). It tends to bow out, like it's falling out of the frame, but when I have time I plan on fixing the frame so it stays in place. Make sure you have your measurements right!! I'd suggest working with a local framing company if you'd like to put this in a shadow box type of fixture.

### ⭐ Scratches easy and prone to manufacture defects

UPDATE: got a replacement, and it's just as bad, if not worse. If you're using it for a magic mirror project, just bite the bullet and go with a glass one. This one is prone to bad defects. After delivery, you have to remove 3 protective films in total. This gave me confidence the acrylic would be in good condition, but upon removing the film, it had a long diagonal streak going through the middle. I thought this was maybe a scruff from me removing the protective layer, but it was in fact between layers of the acrylic, and could not be cleaned. What more, upon cleaning with ordinary windex and a lint free cloth, the reflective material began to wipe off. Poor quality and fragile. If you get it in perfect condition, install it and don't touch it. Otherwise send it back for a replacement or shop somewhere else, because it'll damage easily.
