It is often too hot or windy for me to tend to my containers plants out of doors so I bought this potting mat. I wasn't sure. I mean, one more thing? However, it is very useful. It folds up at the edges and catches all of the dirt with the exception of a bit of dust which is unavoidable. No more mess! It folds up for easy storage and wipes down well. It has made my indoor potting so much easier. If you are hesitating, just buy it. You won't regret it.

So glad I got this. I might buy a second one for my daughter. I find this to be a great value. Functionally, keeps dirt, water, mud etc... off my counters when I need to repot inside. (Pay no attention to the specs of dirt on my counter. W/o thinking, I just tossed the bag of potting soil onto the counter instead of on the mat. Outside, as long as I remove the old plant dirt into another pot or onto the ground when I add the new soil (on the mat) and soil inevitably spills (because it always does),I can just pour that clean potting soil back into the bag - no waste. The mat is square and pretty much the depth of a standard countertop. It's not large enough or probably sturdy enough to hold a big bag of potting soil or even a large plant. This is more for those small maybe medium size jobs. It's simply not big enough for a bigger job like a large floor plant. The mat is thick enough that you can pick the whole thing up, dirt, dead leaves, trimmed roots... and walk it outside or to the trash can without worrying about it tearing. Now, if you have butter fingers and dop a corner on the way to the trash, well... you might have dirt to clean up from the floor depending upon how much dirt you have on your mat. The mat is easy to clean. You could hose it down or wipe it with a damp paper towel or rag. The design is nice because when you snap the corners together the fork the 'walls' of the mat. Unsnapping the corners makes it easy to clean, dry, and fold. When folded or takes up little to no space.

Perfect Solution! Keeps my kitchen table clean while potting my plants. It's very easy to clean and once folded, doesn't take up any storage space. I'm very happy with this purchase.

This mat does a great job keeping most of the soil contained. I was hoping to do all my repotting inside, but honestly, dirt still manages to get around a bit no matter what mat you use. I think doing it outside is still the easiest since I end up taking the mat out to clean it anyway. That said, this works really well. It’s a good size, portable, and a great value for the money. The material is tarp-like, maybe even a bit thicker, and feels very sturdy. It was easy to set up and store, which I appreciate. Overall, a great purchase and I would buy it again.

I bought this on a whim in a size large and felt super silly about it but I have used this thing three times already for repotting or planting plants indoors and I like it a lot. It covers my work surface (half of the coffee table) perfectly. I was previously working on a flattened cardboard box or just the table or coffee table which made clean up such a drag. This does a lovely job protecting my work surface and containing any potting soil. I really like that I can just pick it up with any of the extra soil or debris, take it outside and slide the soil off into an outdoor plant or compost. It is easy to clean after use wiping it with a paper towel, folding and putting it away for storage afterward. It folds small and does not take a lot of space. It seems pretty durable and the material seems to be a thin but not too thin tarp material but with buttons added to the corners to contain mess. For what it is and what I'm using it for it is so far quite versatile and very useful. I got it in a plain green color which is super easy to see where needs a wipe down before putting is away. I like this more than I thought I would!

I bought this on a whim!! I really get tired of cleaning up the plant messes I make in my kitchen. Yeah, I know, I could find another place to repot a plant- but the kitchen counter is just the right height. For years, I’ve set newsprint down, large cookie sheets to contain my mess and detritus. Still ends up everywhere. When this clever little product arrived the other day- I put it to use immediately- repotting 3 succulents that outgrew their ceramic homes. Yes, on my kitchen counter!!! It snaps together quickly and easily. The side walls are high enough to contain spills of dirt and dead plant matter. I got the smallest size- as I have a small kitchen. It’s perfect size wise. So, I happily repotted my plants- making a mess inside the tray. Of course!!! But to my delight- I didn’t end up with dirt in the sink or on the floor or even on my shirt or shoes. Hooray!!! I put everything away and took this wonderful tray/mat outside and shook the mess into the side garden next to the porch and wiped the excess off. I then washed it in the kitchen sink, dried it off. I folded it up just the way it came to me and secured it with the Velcro strap it came with and tucked it in the drawer I use for small baking dishes. It takes up less room than instructions for an appliance. This is WONDERFUL!!! It is a genuine bargain. Price is great- the concept- put genius. I love great American gadgets- and have wasted money over the years!!! THIS is worth the money. Easy to use- stores easily and a great idea. You won’t be sorry if you are like me and can make messes as easily as I do. Now, if I could find something that can contain my messes when I am beading or using my glue gun!!

This is such a simple and great product! I am happy someone came up with something to use to help contain the mess of replanting pots inside. It contains the mess, it folds up easily for storage, and it is sturdy.

Makes repotting and mixing soil a breeze with quick easy cleanup. Also folds up nicely for storage. Thick material so no snagging or tearing. Sides remained upright. Lots of space to work in. Bonus: could be used for things like pumpkin carving or messy projects.

I've purchased one for myself and another as a gift. Great way to keep the planting area clean. Clean up is super easy. Folds away easily for storage. I can see me using this for other things as well, like jigsaw puzzles.
