Mr. Pencil's Scribble, Write & Read, English

My son is 5 years old, he is ASD with speech and global development delay. His fine motor isn't great. Since having this, he is actively finding notches on the pencil to hold it correctly. He thinks he's being sneaky by practicing extra phonics and sounds when I'm not in the room. Yesterday he even tried to do some sound blending on his own. He has shown zero interest in any of this at home and school, so to leapfrog, thank you. This is such a useful SEN tool for someone like my son. 💖💖💖 He's trying independently and has asked me for only a little help so far. Reasonably priced, made well, clear quality on the audio, screen and clear instructions that are remarkably easy for a child with the mind of a toddler to follow. You can even put their name into it so they can practice writing their own name 💖 he absolutely loves playing with it, he gets so excited to pick it back up again 💖💖💖

Great for little ones, so educational.

My grandson loves it

Purchased for 2.8yr old who is obsessed with phonics right now. Good options for writing (tracing), spelling, reading and drawing. You can add 3 names for your child to learn the spelling which is good. The pencil sensitivity is good. Only niggle is that the accent is in American English, not British. Z is still ‘Zed’ and not ‘Zee’ which is good but words like ‘draw’ our in American accent.

My little boys absolutely loves this and it’s helping him with letter formation. He particularly responds well to the interactive and visual formats to support learning. It would benefit from a slightly larger screen size for children who have poorer fine motor skills but does benefit from a chunky pen which my 4 year old is able to hold correctly and is also suitable for his left handed use.

Good learning product

The LeapFrog Mr. Pencil Scribble & Write has been a fantastic addition to our learning toys. It’s engaging, interactive, and makes practicing letters actually fun for kids. My child loves following the animated instructions with the stylus, and the screen provides clear guidance on how to write letters, numbers, and even simple shapes. It’s durable, lightweight, and great for travel—perfect for car rides or quiet time at home. The feedback system is encouraging rather than frustrating, which helps build confidence instead of stress. There are 2 sound volume and the screen is quite bright. Overall, it’s a great learning tool that makes writing practice feel like play. Highly recommend for ages 3–6!
