Overall great but with some question marks
The media could not be loaded. Β Let me start with the good:- MOST OF THE TIME this dash cam system is a set-it-and-forget-it device that operates very well without you doing anything after installation. Most of the time.- The picture quality is great, it's easy to see other car's details in the recorded video- The operation (if you do want to mess with it) is good - the touch screen is actually very responsive and I like a lot how it works. It's almost Apple-level responsive - nice!- The ease of installation. You have to run the cables, of course, but the main part was very easy to place on top of your existing rearview mirror and secure in place using the included straps.- blind spot detection: nice, together with a wide field of view of the rear-facing camera this makes a nice difference- it comes with its own gps, so you can log your trips, etc. Nice touch! Now the BAD:- occasionally it has glitches and, for example says there was no card detected... when CLEARLY nothing change since the last time I drove the car and the card is in there... so that's frustrating and I can only hope this never happens when I truly need this thing to be recording. To clear this error I have to pop the card out and re-insert it, which in turn contributes to unsafe driving because it's not easy at all to get this done while you're driving... I would say it's a MAJOR flaw and I am taking a start out for this.- the positioning of the front-facing camera is a bit of a mystery to me and IMHO it is also a MAJOR flaw in the design. In my car (Kia Forte GT) it happens to be on the very VERGE of unusable. I have it pushed all the way down in the little movable slot where it sits and have the original rearview mirror tilted all the way down and it is recording the view in front of the car just about right. If it had to be a millimeter higher the whole thing would not work for my setup or I would have to rig a way to have it face lower. You can see this in the short video I am adding to this review. Also, this awkward placement negates what could be IMO the strongest feature of this whole device: since now the image in your rearview mirror is a recording from a rear facing camera and not a reflection you could technically have the rearview mirror positioned any way you want and for example completely facing the driver but... you can't really do that because you're very limited by the positioning of the front facing camera... ay yai yai...Overall I think this does what it's supposed to do and the quality of the recordings is great so I am giving it a high rating despite the annoyances. Is it THE BEST system on the market? No, but the idea of having a picture the size of your entire mirror is decent and this feels high tech and... MOST of the time (about 95% in my case) it works flawlessly.

High Res Dash Cam with Front and Back Camera
The Rexing M2 Dash Cam features both a front and rear view HD camera, plus an optional GPS unit for speed and geo-location information.Installation: The dashcam itself is a rearview mirror with a reflective coating so it can be used without any power, albeit the mirror is a little dark. However, once the dashcam is turned on, the high resolution screen provides bright and clear rear view pictures with clock, vehicle speed and directions included (if GPS module is installed). Installation is a snap, as it sits on top of the existing vehicle rear review mirror and tightens with 2 silicon bands. It fits snuggly in place. If your vehicle has controls on the rear view mirror itself (ie garage door opener), then this dashcam may not be a good choice as those buttons will be covered. There are 2 (3 if using the included GPS module) wires to install. One is the power wire which will need to route to a 12V cigarette lighter. One is the rear view camera wire and third (optional) is the GPS module. You will need to provide your own microSD card for recordings. The harder part of the installation is to install the rear camera. It will involve feeding wires through the car cabin to the rear door/truck and connect a red wire to the backup signal light wire. The camera can be taped to the car body or secured with 2 small screws (both the double side tape and screws are provided). .It took me about 1.5 hours to install everything and get it working.Usage: The Rexing M2 dashcam is really easy to use. Once it's powered on, the default is rear view camera mode and automatically started to record. The nice big and bright screen is easy on the eye and very detailed. The screen is tough enabled and you can adjust the camera by using your finger to move the camera up/down/left/right to control the picture. To swap to front camera, simply touch the screen to reveal some extra buttons from the bottom screen and and you can then select the front camera if you want.Auto backup camera: If you wired the red wire to the backup light bulb, the dashcam can detect it's in backup mode and will change the view to provide 2 lines for helping you measure the backup distance. You can use the finger to move the camera angle for a better close up view.Extra Features (Driver Assist): The dashcam provided both blind spot detection, lane departure and distance warning (ex. too close to the car in front). These advanced features require some calibration and setup to use. I still need time to try them out more.Retrieving the dashcam video: The videos are stored via a (not included) microSD card (try to use the high endurance ones). You can view them from the dashcam itself or take the microSD card out and retrieve them on your computer.Overall I give this unit a 5 stars as the front/rear dash cam are easy to set up and to use. The advanced features are optional and may provide useful info if you have an older car without those safety features built-in. The recordings from both front and rear view are clear with good resolution. Overall this is a good quality dashcam.

Good as a digital rear view mirror
I currently have 3 channel dashcam installed in my car that I was planning to upgrade. I was entertained by the ide of having a digital rearview mirror as I have seen from friends how it worked and functioned. As I looked around I came across this unit and decided to pull the trigger and see if I would like it.This unit is a 2 channel unit, one camera pointed to the front and the other pointed to interior or rear. The second channel, or rear camera, is hard wire so if you plan to install the second camera in the back be prepared to run the cable all the way from the front to the back end of wherever you decide to mount it. Once installed you have to make sure you have all the settings set up to make sure it is oriented correctly and properly adjusted to the viewing angle that you like.Unfortunately, the recordinging quality was not better than my current setup so I decided not to use it as a dedicated dashcam. I did, however, keep it on and use it as a digital rearview mirror as the latency and delay is bearable for drives to and from work. If you plan to use it in the manner that I am I would highly recommend adjusting the brightness for night driving as it can be distracting at night.
