Yummy
Have been searching everywhere for a mango chutney my family would like. This one was perfect and made our Christmas meal!

Heavy on Ginger, Thick Texture
This chutney has a pretty aggressive ginger flavor and spiciness, with a decent amount of mango flavor. It's pretty thick, and a bit gelatinous, and I find it harder to use as a dip for samosa, but would work better as a drizzle.Overall, it has a nice intense flavor, and works great for my favorite brand of frozen samosas. I definitely recommend giving it a try if you like a fruity, ginger flavor.Refrigerate after opening. It does not indicate how long it will last after opening.Ordered June 2023Best before March 2026 (33 months)Made in India.

Doesn’t taste like any major grays chutney I have ever had
I love chutney. I buy it by the case, usually Pataks. This does not taste like any mango or major grays chutney that I’ve ever had before. It’s mildly sweet and very salty. I was looking for chunks of mango, but I couldn’t find any. It’s really more of a slightly loose, sticky jam texture. it’s got a flavor that I just can’t place. I did have it with a sweet potato and red lentil Dal today and it tasted ok with that but it doesn’t by itself. I will likely finish the jar but wouldn’t get it again.

Didn’t like fermented taste
I was looking forward to trying this Zayd Organic Mango Major Grey Chutney, but the taste was not what I was expecting. It tastes fermented and vinegary, not at all sweet, and just wasn’t to my liking. I was eating it over lentils, a simple veggie dish, and barley, and ended up throwing out the food that had the chutney touching it. One family member actually really liked it, so it must be an acquired taste.

Salty, pickled mango chutney
This is a pickled mango chutney, not a sweet mango chutney. It's very salty and tangy and tastes much more traditional than what I was expecting. It has a nice amount of ginger heat to it, but I found the salty brininess of this chutney to be a bit overpowering.I'm not sure where you would use this, but maybe as a condiment for meats. It is not a mango chutney I would use on a samosa.Overall - if you want a salty, "pickled" mango chutney, you might like this. It's not my favorite, but it's unique and has a nice depth of flavor.

Gingery and not very mango-forward
This chutney is very ginger-forward and I would have liked for it to taste more like mango. There is a lot in the jar, so you get good bang for your buck, especially since you don't need a lot. It is salty, slightly sweet, and a bit tangy.

Not to our taste
This Zayd Organic Mango Major Grey Chutney has a very strong flavor that none of us appreciated. I wish the mango came through more. It's a thick and sticky gel consistency with the ginger and garlic dominating the flavors. My daughter feels that it's very sweet, too. She loves ginger but did not enjoy this either. Having never tried Major Grey before, I can't say if this is representative. We like all of the ingredients but not the finished product.
