Solid, User-Friendly, Quiet, and Powerful
(As of writing this review, I've only owned the product for a little under a week, but I will update the review if I encounter any troubles. So if you are reading this months down the road and see no updates, that is because the product is still working perfectly.)So I bought this to replace my old Blue Star 650w PSU I payed about $20 for. It recently started to die, causing shutdowns and difficulty detecting some faulty RAM I had. Memtest86+ was giving me clean readings some days and 300,000 errors the next. The first step towards fixing the errors was to find consistency with a new PSU.After some confusion about the shipping, which is no fault of the manufacturer / product and has no effect on my review, I opened up the package and was impressed before even installing the unit. The packaging was neat, sleek, professional, and very inviting. The PSU was packed alongside the well-organized cables and the zip pouch they include to store spare cables.I know this may seem strange, but I always feel more comfortable with a product that is heavy. I guess maybe it is because more weight indicates a sturdier or higher quality device in some cases. Well, one of the first things I noticed about the PSU itself is that it was significantly heavier and more solid than my old PSU. It seemed built to last.Installing the unit was only a 10-minute job, and could have easily been less if I had a larger computer case. I will soon be ordering a nice ATX/micro ATX case for my micro ATX build, as my current case is only for micro-ATX motherboards and the spacing behind my DVD burner is quite tight, which made it a little difficult to fit the PSU in behind it, as it is a long PSU. You'll want to make sure you have at least 6.5" of length for the PSU itself and an additional 2.5" for the cables. The modular design of the PSU made it very easy to keep the inside of my case clean. The only cables that don't pop out are the main board / CPU cables. The cables are also clearly labeled and the sockets themselves tell you which way to face them while plugging them in. It really couldn't be any easier, even for somebody with no knowledge of hardware. So far, we have a solidly built product with easy installation and organized packaging / components.Upon firing up the computer with the new PSU in it, I noticed it was much quieter than my old PSU. I ran Memtest86+ again and found consistent memory errors on one of my sticks. The new PSU was obviously functioning well. My computer is now crash-free, although I am down to 4gb of RAM, which is plenty. In summary, this is a great product so far. I enjoyed unboxing it and installing it. It is quiet and works very well. I wouldn't have been any less satisfied if I had to pay $100 for it. You can't go wrong with the great performance and value of this product.

Easiest fix ever.
I am very happy with my new power supply. Let me tell you about it.The ModXstream-Pro 600 is of a family of new power supplies that are a break from the ordinary. They are modular, which means that you only attach cables from the unit to the parts of the computer that you need. Older power supplies have many cables and connections which are intended to serve whatever computer you have, and frequently, many of these cables get in the way of the air flow in your case, resulting in hotter temps and an ugly looking interior. The OCZ has just about every connection you need in a nice mesh bag for storage, and you only connect those that meet your needs. The others can stay in the bag for when you upgrade (another SLI card, for instance). This results in a very neat appearance with little or no clutter at all. Many people said that the cables were not long enough to reach some of their mainboard sockets, but this was not the case (pardon the pun) with my minitower. I had more than enough length to spare. Some of the cables were labeled clearly, so you know which goes where. In addition, the sockets on the supply itself are color coded! The user manual is rather superfluous; if you know enough about computers to replace your power supply, you don't need a manual to tell you the obvious. In fact, I didn't look at it until after I had finished the installation! There are connections for 6 SATA devices, 4 molex and 2 floppy (like you'd need them), one 6 pin PCI-E and one 6+2 PCI-E connection, one 20+4 pin ATX connection and two CPU connections; one 8 pin and one 4 pin. The ATX and both CPU connections are permanently wired, like the older type supplies, but all the others are modular. The unit has a HUGE fan (135 mm) which is whisper quiet. It is on the bottom of the supply so it can draw air from the rear fan of your computer directly into the interior of the supply and out the back. Very nice. I suppose you could flip the thing over and mod your case with a hole in the top and draw air directly from the outside, but I am not brave enough to try it.This bad boy comes with its own surge protection circuitry and is rated for 100K hours of use. And, to seal the deal, comes with a 3 YR warranty against failure. For half a century note, if that isn't enough to get you to buy it, then you don't really need one.UPDATE:Been over two years, two video cards, a new hard drive and new Operating System (Win 8) and the power supply is still going strong. No problems, no issues, just clean power with no hassle. I love this thing! OCZ is my power supply source for life.
