Sculpd Air Dry Clay, Premium Modeling Clay, Self-Hardening, 2.2lbs Bag

I ordered a candle-making kit from Sculpd in early December, which arrived on December 13th. When I finally opened the box on January 4th, I discovered that the clay was completely hard and unusable—it couldn't be manipulated at all. I reached out to Sculpd to see if there was a remedy for this issue. While waiting for their response, I ordered an extra bag of Sculpd clay from Amazon to determine if the clay from the original kit was defective or if I simply needed to learn how to work with it better. The clay I received from Amazon was soft and completely workable, confirming that the original kit's clay was bad. Sculpd asked me to send photos of the hardened clay, which I did. Although I was disappointed that the original clay was unusable, I appreciated that the kit itself was well-designed and enjoyable to use with the new clay. Overall, I'm pleased with the kit, but I’d caution others that if you receive clay that is hard and unusable, don’t be too surprised. However, it's good to know that workable clay is available, and replacing the bad clay can make all the difference.

This clay is soft, smooth, and super easy to sculpt, making it great for beginners and hobbyists. It dries evenly without cracking, and the texture stays workable long enough to add details. The bulk bag is a great value for the amount you get. Perfect for craft projects, home decor pieces, or fun creative sessions.

I was surprised at how sticky this clay is, I was unable to roll it out as it stuck to rolling pin. I used a little water as it said in directions and it was very slippery. So I would say it takes a little practice. I was able to load the silicone molds that I purchased and my project came out nice, and I made a second batch that seemed easier.

I’ve never bought air dry clay before. This came well sealed and has not dried out any bit since I bought it.

Heavy and durable! Keep in cool dark place to dry, and not any cracks!

Love this clay. Will buy this again and again.

I’m really disappointed to have to write this review because this used to be my absolute favorite air-dry clay. I’ve used it for sculpting for quite some time, and it used to have a wonderful pottery-clay feel. It was smooth, easy to work with, and dried surprisingly strong for an air-dry product. Unfortunately, something seems to have changed. The last few packages I’ve purchased have arrived noticeably harder and drier, and the finished clay feels much weaker and more brittle than it used to. My most recent sculpture actually began crumbling after it dried. As an artist, it’s incredibly frustrating and heartbreaking to spend hours creating a piece only to have the material fail afterward. I know air-dry clay will never have the strength of fired ceramic, but this product used to be MUCH more durable than what I’ve received recently. I really hope the manufacturer looks into the quality or formulation because I would love to be able to trust and use this clay again. Sadly, at its current quality, I can’t recommend it for finished sculptures.

I love this clay! Just make sure you spray some water on your work once you finish (to smooth it out a little) and then a few days later (once it's fully dry, glaze it.

This clay is perfect! Soft enough for my painful fingers but perfect for sculptures. The best air drying clay I have ever used. I have been searching for a good alternative to clay that you kiln fire, and this is it ! Thank you.

Pour une première utilisation ce fut très agréable et reposant. Petite coupelle réalisée avec cette terre qui sèche à l'air libre. Temps de séchage rapide. Utilisation du vernis de la même marque très efficace lui aussi.

Sculp Air Dry Clay is absolutely fantastic! It’s incredibly easy to work with, making it perfect for both beginners and experienced crafters alike. The texture is smooth and pliable, allowing you to create detailed pieces without any fuss. It dries beautifully without cracking, leaving a clean, polished finish. One of the best things about this clay is how kid-friendly it is! My children love using it to make all sorts of creations, and I love that it’s non-toxic and safe for them to handle. Plus, there’s no need for a kiln or oven—just let it air dry, and you’re done! Whether you’re crafting with kids, making art projects, or just looking for a creative outlet, this clay is a must-have. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a high-quality, easy-to-use air dry clay.
