wow! This is the resource for growing fruit trees, wherever you live
This is a reference book, so I expected it to be dry reading. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it’s well written, well organized and has additional resources that are amazing. I wish I had learned all of this stuff before I planted some of my trees. However, it is not too late. One of the most important things that I read in this is that planning, however, is, a big first step to getting you on the right path towards your fruit production and how amazing it can be to go organic and have fresh fruit all the time. It takes you through troubleshooting, it tells you additional resources, which it let you download, it even takes you in a storyline about a mythical Joni, who has started a fruit garden. The other amazing thing is wow it even helps you with other flowers that you might be planting just by the ancillary resources it has, and some of the information about putting soil, etc. it even includes container gardens. I’m going to recommend this book to my local library and I highly recommend you get this book and you refer to it often to have fresh amazing Lee tasty fruit in season or if you prefer canning it also has some tips for if you’re going to store your food. Again, I highly recommend this excellent resource. Don’t waste your money on other books. This is the one you need.

Informative and Straight Forward with real life examples!
For the beginner and the seasoned pro. I read this book in the evenings before bed dreaming about the ways to begin and maintain our small orchard. I would have loved to have this resource a few years ago when we first got into planting trees. It's never too late to start. It is a practical and easy to read book in just a handful of hours jam packed with all the information anyone would need to upkeep all their fruit trees.I appreciated the fictional character "Johnny" that goes on his fruit growing journey, and he takes readers along for the ride with all his helpful tips and tricks.

Incredibly organized and thorough!
This book was a great introduction for a beginner! It was incredibly organized, thorough, and easy to read. I truly enjoy gardening but it does not come very naturally to me. I am very appreciate of this book for exploring tips and tricks to successfully produce fruit and feel more self-sufficient. I know what has gone into my food when I harvest it! From pruning to harvesting, there was ample information and how-to guides. As someone who lives in an apartment, I was especially appreciative on the "Small is Beautiful - Growing Fruit in Containers." I didn't realize that dwarf and semi-dwarf options were possible!

Very comprehensive
I really appreciated this book. I have other books on raising fruit trees/ homesteading; but somehow they seem way over my head, or lacking answers when I tried looking for something. So far this book has had an answer for everything I’ve needed help with this year.We just moved and I am dealing with new soil types, new growing zone, new pests… this book came along at just the right time. From how to determine what soil type I have, to how to deal with the heavy deer population, I have found new knowledge in these pages.

From planning, planting, troubleshooting and harvesting!
This book is a must have for anyone who wishes to start growing fruit trees. An excellent resource for those just starting out as well as those that are very experienced. The author leaves no stone unturned and is extremely thorough in explaining in terms a novice, such as myself, can understand. This gem offers everything without being your typical "dry read". It's laced with a bit of humor as well as inspiration to motivate anyone who is hesitant to start growing their own magnificent bounty.

A little basic
Bought this in hopes of learning about pruning fruit trees. It is a little basic and without any diagrams it's not what I was hoping for. Bulk of the book is elementary orchard set up.

A well-written, information-filled book
Although the book is clearly geared towards U.S growers, there is much information that would be useful to fruit tree growers in other parts of the world. There are extensive sections on soil-improvement, pruning, storing, pest control and even on restoring old trees. There is even something for those who wish to grow fruit trees in containers. I have found this book very informative, and I am now a lot clearer on pruning and how to manage pests. I am now looking forward to spending a bit more time looking after my fruit trees instead of just leaving them to it.

A Comprehensive Reference to Grow Your Own Fruit
This is comprehensive book to grow your own fruit wherever you may live. I wish i would have found this great reference two years ago before I made a few mistakes in locating and planting several apple trees. It will continue to be a reference for the ongoing care and pruning of my existing and future plantings.
