Brilliant pliers for hobby and light trade
First the positives:Well meshed jaws,No flex in the handles when really giving it some Welly to clamp on something,Hard metal on the jaws, bite well into the clamped material,Cutter no perfect, but good,Handles are dipped type so likely shall not last into years of use, but, for a spare pair of combi pliers good enough,Not bulky, 160mmNegative:When delivered the jaws were gritty and needed to be oiled through, firstly with a loosening oil, wd40 type oil, applied to the working pivot, then wiped, applying more, wipe, while moving the handles, working the crud out, then when cleaned up, enough, moved to a 3 in 1 oil, same as above applying, wiping, applying, etc,Then a thick chain oil applying and working into the joint, apply on the sides too, work into the pivot / joint, then with the excess oil, smear onto the rest of the metal work,Take ten to 15 mins, worth it while watching the TV or something, then it's set for years of service, at that price, less than a fiver, there is no such thing as a quality tool, without work, either the company does the work or you do, if the former does, then you pay for it by money, if you do, then you still pay but with a few drops of oil and elbow grease, knippex for example, they have a whole system to prevent crud from forming in the pivot, that you pay for, so simply get out the box and start working with,My conclusion is the tool is top end for a side / back up or spare box nose aka combi pliers, at a price point there is little to complain about, in my opinion / experience, rather have this budget tool that's serviceable than nothing, has been a time saver on several occasions, when you just need that extra clamping force, also when needed for a quick job or a job when you are exposed or where sticky fingers McGee is likely, I take them along with my Poundland hammer etc, loose the lot, I aint fussed, loose a pair of olde faithful knippex, CK or Kleins, then it's a case of expletives and heavy on the hart,Well worth the purchase, take care of your tools... They shall.....
