I purchased this item for a friend because he wanted to do some pad work in order to lose weight and improve his fitness.I have myself practiced a variety of martial arts over a good number of years, and in that time have used a wide variety of products, but my friend didn't want to pay out for a high-end branded product just in case it wasn't something he wanted to do long term, so I took a punt on the Maxstrength curved strike shield.I've been very pleased with what I got.The pad is thinner and lighter than most I have used previously, but very dense and tough, and it's curved design makes it ideal for a wide variety of striking exercises including kicks, knees, and elbows. There are three handles on the rear made from sturdy canvas style strapping that allow the pad to be held at any number of positions and angles.The pad was also very good value for money in comparison to leading brands, and any trepidation I may have had about the product were eliminated after my first use of the item.Recommended!

rebought this item after buying some a couple of years ago very good but half the thickness of my others? overall a good product but not as good for the holders now as the shock comes through more than before little disappointed to be honest

My 10yr old son has been using this since Christmas for his MMA. Its still in great shape and he can really give it some punishment.

I bought this for my children to use ages ranging from 4 (nearly) to 9 years of age who are training at Tai Kwan Do, it saves them punching and kicking me!The covering of the shield is quite abrasive so the kids have to wear their gloves or their hands would end up quite sore. It might be worth while mentioning this where juniors are using hand protection is recommended.Otherwise it's excellent allowing them to punch and kick as hard as they like without damaging themselves (or me)

The product is light enough to be held above your head. But I had to return it because it would not offer protection against a kick with any form of power. Maybe suitable for children or training that doesn’t involve power. Quick delivery and the staff were very helpful when I requested a return.

This kick shield is light, and easy to handle. Not suitable for heavy kickers/roundhouse kicks as it's quite slim, and could potentially be very uncomfortable for the pad holder.Great for casual training and perfect for learning placement and technique over power.

Bought as birthday present for someone training in MMA. Recipient gave nothing but positive feedback all the way and described the pad as exactly what she needed.

For a kick shield this one has particularly unpractical and uncomfortable handles for holding it up, and the filling is very hard. By the look of it, I don't expect it to last long. For the price, I was expecting more.
