What size bra would a 16 uk be L or XL

I am size 38 dd usually, I’ve just had surgery for breast cancer, fortunately it was small and all the cancerous cells were removed. II bought a larger size to accommodate swelling post op and after precautionary radiotherapy. So I got an XL for that reason, it’s comfortable but I do find the hook fastening g under the zip a bit fiddly
