The work is performed underneath the car. Carefully remove all traces of refrigerant first, crawl underneath and pry off electrical connector then compress snap ring with angled pliers and observe valve flying out of compressor after a few good tugs. There is a lot of greasy stuff in the way, but it is an achievable task. No comment on longevity.
