Stainless Steel and Plastic Air Activated Switch Button Only for Waste Disposal

It's a button that you press to get your item working simple as that.It does a brilliant job at that as well.Easy to fit once I made the hole for it.Connected up my hose and pressed it and there you go my waste disposal unit fired into life and the air switch proved itself as a worthy member of our family and is now a part of our daily life..It works a treat, chuck some cat food down my waste disposal (which is why I wanted one) and some water and look it's all gone.. Press the yummy stainless steel (didn’t want chrome as it peels off) button again and it stopped my waste disposal. I’m stunned...It’s amazing what this button/switch can do.. I’m flabbergasted by its abilities... And just look at its sexy curves, it’s smooth knob/button and oh the feel as you push your finger into it, not a hint of moistness to be found and just what you need to compliment your sink and match made in havenReally what can you review when discussing a button/air switch from China?Does exactly what it says on the tin and is the nicest one I could find without paying stupid money for it.But it and you’ll have a wonderful life together,, Babies? I think not but as long as you clean it life will be good as it wants for nothing..lolJJ

This air push button is an excellent product. I have used it to switch our In-sink-erator waste disposal unit on and off.The original one wore out and was not producing enough air pressure to operate the micro switch in the base of the unit.I did not need another length of hose, just the push button.Even though this push button is slightly less in diameter than the old one it still fitted firmly in the hole in the sink with the provided locking nut and once I had re-attached the hose ( a simple push into the base of the unit and then tighten the end nut) a small push on the button operated the In-sink-erator.There are two adverse comments here and I think that the one concerning the lack of power is probably a case of either a poorly fitted air hose or a faulty micro switch on the switched motor; as to the button being the wrong colour, I thought that at first until I noticed that it was covered with a thin plastic protective film which easily removed to reveal the stainless steel.

Works really well. Very gentle press and turns my waste disposal on and off. Like another reviewer said, diameter is less than original. I padded it out and fine.

This has a cheap look and feel when compared to the OEM air switch. The barrel size and switch are narrower in diameter compared to the OEM. The nut on the end cross-threaded when I tried to fit it. There is possibly a very slight air leak somewhere, probably due to me not being able to assemble the nut properly, so it is a little harder to operate. I have to jab the switch harder to get it to switch on and off.Buy cheap, buy twice - I've now ordered the more expensive OEM part.Awarded two stars because it does work.

This was cheap and - crucially - available on next day delivery which is the main reason I bought it. As others have mentioned, the unit is quite a bit smaller (diameter) than the official insinkerator unit so you have a wide hole to fill take care. The main issue I had with this is that the locking nut which secures the pipe in place is very flimsy and kept coming off the thread as I tightened it - it’s a good idea, but poorly implemented. The nut which holds the whole thing to the work top is also not that great - very stiff, even after greasing it up, so a tricky thing to tighten with fingers if access under the worktop is too restricted for a spanner. The good news is that the stainless steel top looks smart and the unit works well once I’d got it in place.

As previously described this is a smaller calibre than the ISE original, but assuming the original mounting hole was not over-large, it will cover the hole. This has a smaller air capacity than the original which seemed to be a problem until I realised that the original fitter had not cut the hose to fit but just coiled it up. Now the hose is a sensible length it works perfectly. Also it is stainless, which matches the sink better than chromed plastic.

The only switch on the market apparently that has a nut on the bottom to retain the air hose. It was a constant pain having to strip the appliance to reattach the hose. Haven't had to do this once since installing this replacement switch.Yes, it's a smaller diameter than the one it was replacing but it fits just fine and still moves enough air to operate properly.Well pleased with it.
