I use my espresso machine daily, so after about two weeks of usage I feel like the machine can use a nice cleaning. I like the idea of these tablets because you drop it in and it goes to work. I assume it’s actually doing something because my espresso / cappuccino / lattes taste fresh consistently. For this price, I believe this is a good deal.

I bought this to descale my moka pots, but I didn't realize until receiving this that it's not recommended for use on aluminum. This wasn't mentioned in the product listing or visible in the photos, so I'm disappointed in that... but for the sake of science, I tried it anyway on my older smaller one. The tablets contain sodium carbonate and sodium percarbonate, which are similar to denture tablets. Most of these aluminum pots have some sort of coating to slow down oxidation. I'm pretty sure the coating was already worn off of this one.I filled it up and let it soak for a bit with warm water, then set it to the proper level and ran a cycle with the tablet. I also soaked part of the exterior pot in it for comparison. It did come out looking cleaner. The stainless steel pan I had it sitting in came out noticeably cleaner as well where the solution was in contact with it. I ran a rinse cycle through afterwards to remove any remaining cleaner.So, all in all, I think the product should work fine, but it's probably best for stainless steel equipment.
