SABRENT Hard Drive Docking Station SSD Enclosure

This an excellent device with no setup required. I have used on both SSD and HDD and it works well and really fast. I am using it as extra storage from drives taken from my old pc. A super product

This works with all of the hard drives that I have floating about from various computers that I have had. This only works with 3.5” hard drives. Luckily I was able to access the data from my last computer. My previous Sabrent 2 drive version seemed to have given up the ghost. This item is a very good replacement to that item. Would recommend. Data recovery is fast with the use of USB3 connectivity. The hard drives don’t seem to get hot. The item is silent in use I suspect the flap that covers the hard drive deadens the sound. Good value for money. A compact and well designed item.

Does the job it claims to do, i plugged it in, attached the drive, windows didn't detect it because the drives partition table was corrupt, used software to fix the partition table and the drive worked fine, plugged in an SSD that had no issues at all also. compatible with 2.5 and 3.5 inch drives, seems sturdy enough for the task. Feels a little cheaper than you might expect for the price, but it works fine.

Excellent for connecting a bare drive. Simple to use and just a plug and play. My hard drive had a failure of the usb circuit board so this station sorted that. I leave the hard drive in it as I only have one hard drive and as it completely encloses the drive it protects it.

Really useful and they just plug in and work. My Linux PC blew up and this was an easy way to get the data off the disks into a new PC - most of the data was on SATA disks in Linux LVM volume groups - this was easy to recover just by plugging the old drives into the new PC USB ports and doing a pvscan and vgimport. Having done the data transfers I now have some high capacity removable disks to use for data backups. No drivers are needed - just plug them into the USB port and the PC will automagically see them.

Put old hard drive (Mac) in and worked first time.Put a few more old hard drives windows and Mac and working great.Great item at good price tried a few other docking stations no success but this worked for me.

I was so glad I'd backed up hundreds of totally irreplaceable photos when my old pc packed up. I could just connect the external hard drive they were backed up on to my new computer. What I then DIDN'T think to do (muppetry of the highest order) was back them up again! Subsequently the Iomega external drive they were on failed. My wife & I were devastated - photos of our grandchildren's earliest years, weddings, holidays, Christmases just gone. So much so that we contemplated sending the broken drive to one of those data recovery companies - although we know the cost is often enormous. I read up on the problem & wondered if the drive really was done for or maybe it was the power supply to it. An electrical tester showed the supply cable was fine. I'd discovered that the sealed (they are sealed - no screws - no easy way to open them) cabinet would just contain an interface & a standard SATA 3.5" hard drive. I thought maybe if I could get it out of the cabinet without damaging it, I could fit it in my pc but was told you can't. I didn't know about docks like this. As a last resort before shelling out hundreds of pounds for professional help, I bought this dock. After very carefully breaking open the cabinet on my "broken" hard drive I detached it from the interface card & (praying) slotted it into this dock. The dock powered up the drive immediately & within minutes had rescued all those precious memories. A wonderful simple device it connected to my Windows 11 pc faultlessly just as it purports to do. The best £28 I've ever spent. The drive itself is solid & well made of decent materials. Furthermore, not only has it got me out of an awful situation, it was obviously only the interface that had failed so the dock has given the 1TB Samsung drive a new lease of life for just £27.99. Suffice it to say I have created multiple back ups of my important things now! Whatever you need this quality product for, I'm sure it's simplicity of use & great results will impress you.

This is a pretty good device—provided you only plan to use it for a few minutes at a time. Unfortunately, it completely lacks a cooling system, meaning your hard drive will overheat rapidly during extended use. I tried transferring 1TB of data, and the drive got so dangerously hot that I couldn't even remove it without feeling like I was going to burn my fingerprints off. It's fine for quick tasks, but absolutely not built for heavy data transfers.

システムのバックアップには最適です。排熱も問題ないと思いますが、最近は気温が高いのでそのへんは各自調整していくのが良いでしょう。なにより、引っ越しソフトウェアがダウンロード可能なのが良好。使いながらレビュー追加していきます。

Excellent drive bay

Oui très bien comme boîtier pour installer un disque dur externe. Bouton de marche avec voyant rouge. Couvercle que l'ont peut laisser ouvert l'été pour que l'air passe sur le disque dur. Sais le deuxième que j'achète et j'en suis content très simple d'utilisation pas de vis ou autre pour installer le disque dur externe il suffit juste de lever le couvercle. Produit de bonne qualité.

Ich habe das Sabrent-Festplattengehäuse gekauft, um ältere Festplatten weiter nutzen und auf gespeicherte Daten zugreifen zu können. Die Inbetriebnahme war erfreulich einfach: anschließen, wenige Sekunden warten und die Festplatte wird sofort erkannt. Es mussten keinerlei Treiber installiert oder besondere Einstellungen vorgenommen werden. Ich verwende das Gehäuse unter älteren Windows-Versionen und hatte bisher keinerlei Kompatibilitätsprobleme. Besonders positiv finde ich, dass es sowohl mit klassischen 3,5-Zoll-Festplatten aus älteren Desktop-PCs als auch mit einer 2,5-Zoll-SSD aus einem Laptop problemlos funktioniert. So konnte ich mehrere ältere Laufwerke wieder sinnvoll nutzen, ohne sie fest in einen Computer einbauen zu müssen. Ein weiterer Pluspunkt war für mich eine bestimmte SSD, die in einem anderen externen Gehäuse – obwohl dieses eigentlich speziell für SSDs gekauft wurde – überhaupt nicht erkannt wurde. Mit dem Sabrent-Gehäuse wurde dieselbe SSD dagegen sofort erkannt und funktioniert seitdem absolut zuverlässig. Genau dieses Erlebnis hat mich von der Qualität des Produkts überzeugt. Auch die Verarbeitung macht einen guten Eindruck. Das Gehäuse wirkt stabil, die Festplatten sitzen sicher und die Datenübertragung läuft schnell und ohne Unterbrechungen. Bisher hatte ich weder Verbindungsabbrüche noch andere Probleme. Für alle, die ältere Festplatten oder SSDs weiterverwenden, Daten sichern oder einfach bequem auf verschiedene Laufwerke zugreifen möchten, ist dieses Gehäuse eine klare Empfehlung. Es funktioniert zuverlässig, spart Zeit und Nerven und bietet ein ausgezeichnetes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Ich würde es jederzeit wieder kaufen.
