Does anyone have any experience of using this to get rid of millipedes? If so was it successful?

I have ants in a kitchen cupboard. Does anyone know if it's okay to put the powder on surfaces like this?

I wouldn't put it where it'll get on anything you will out of or serve out of. Maybe in the very back corners of the cupboard, but be careful not to get any on anything else.
