I get these puzzles all the time. They kill time, and the dynamic ones with a solar motor are always a plus. This puzzle actually has two power options: solar or battery pack. I've tried with solar and it needs a good amount of solar light to get it to move. On the other hand, if you need that immediate satisfaction, plug in the included battery pack (batteries not included--two AA batteries needed). The kerf cut on the pieces is fairly small and has a very good friction fit. I did sand down the nubs at the connection points to help it along. There's included wax crayon to help "lube" certain moving parts. The puzzle action is fairly simple; it's a marble ladder and that's it. I have a lot of puzzles that have a roller coaster action and jumps, but this one is just like a ladder fall. For the fitment and assembly of the puzzle, it's pretty good. For action of the marbles, it's just okay. Assembly would benefit from a website either shows the assembly or the parts sheets so you don't have to keep flipping the assembly sheet that has the parts listed on the other side.

We have been trying since Xmas to get this together and it's obvious now that it isn't meant to go together. The wood cogs to make the entire thing work are the incorrect sizes and they will never fit together.This is not a toy for kids for sure.Upsetting and I wish we could return it.

The media could not be loaded. I love these marble run bamboo put-together puzzles. I have several of the name brand version, this is my first off brand experience. There are several differences. 1) the directions tell you letter and number which piece to use, but the pieces themselves are not marked. On the name brand, all the pieces themselves are marked. There is a legend on the opposite side of the directions (that I found afterwards), but I'd rather not flip directions over constantly. It wasn't a huge deal on this small pmarble run, but in larger models that could be problematic. 2) The solar didn't work for me (as shown in the video). I had to shine a really bright flashlight on mine to get it to work. Granted, it was a little smokey outside, but it was in direct sun. 3) There was a portion that the balls kept getting stuck at and I had to sand it down. I'm glad the kit came with sandpaper, but there was no note on the instructions that it might need sanded there even though the piece attached to it is arched up. 4) There is a lot more glueing in this than the name brand version. Not a huge deal, but kiddos might not have the attention to detail or patience (depending on the kiddo of course).

My 11 year old daughter loves building kits like these The difference here is that you have a fun toy at the end. marble runs a amazing to watch and this kit is great for preteen or even adults
