super cute and compact. holds the right amount of food for my 6 year old. My only complaint is that it becomes difficult for her to open because it sticks. I fixed this by rubbing a little cooking spray on the rubber.

I researched bento boxes for quite some time and landed on this one. I am the type to read all of the instructions on proper usage and cleaning. This one seemed like a good fit, and for close to $50 I figured the quality had to be good.I am so disappointed for the following reasons: The box insert does not stay in the box when I open the box. It's as if the box gets suctioned shut and then to open the box, you have to tip it on its spine and pull the top and bottom apart with two hands. Then, of course, the insert goes flying. Even if I leave the box flat on the counter and pull the top up, the insert goes with it (again as if it's suctioned to it. My 4 year old cannot navigate it at all for this reason because all of his food dumps out when he has to use that much force to get the box open.Additionally, to get the box shut, I have to apply a good amount of force to get the clips close enough to shut it. Even then, there is a gap between the top and bottom piece. Again, I have tried practicing with my son, and he is unable to shut it on his own because of the amount of force necessary to get the two pieces close enough to then clip it. (He's great with gross motor skills, but this box is a challenge).It seems as though we received a faulty box because for $50 I expected something much higher quality.The thermos also leaks.We've given it out best shot, but overall, it is a pain. We're sticking to baggies and tupper ware this school year because all of the fuss isn't worth it.

Everything is very good quality, all necessary things included. The only thing is that inside container is sticking to the lid but we solved it with applying a bit of oil into rubber.

This is a cute set but to close it is hard even for me as the adult. I told my son just do his best and put it back in the bag. Too expensive for it to have any issues with simply being about to close it.
