Solid metal Bird feeding station/crook (2 Hanging hook station/crook)

British made, this one's actually been thought about, a great, well made product.
This must be the Rolls Royce of bird feeding poles. British made, this one's actually been thought about and is both robust and good-looking.It's made from solid steel (not tube) but is quite slim-line with an unfussy design - it looks elegant and is not over-heavy. It comes in two parts which slot together easily. One word of caution, the two parts are secured together with a grub screw: the Allen key for this is supplied and is obvious, but the grub screw is hidden away inside the open end of the upper part, there no warning of that and ours fell out into the grass before we realised - luckily a magnet found it. The makers could perhaps put Allen key and grub screw together in a small bag. The black paint looks thick and the whole thing looks really good, nothing shoddy about it. We put ours up without any problem: the double prongs went into our lawn easily. You can push the prongs in by pushing with your foot on the horizontal bar, as with a fork, which makes it easy to get them full depth in. It seems very stable. There's a small solid metal ring on one of the prongs which puzzled us - turns out it's there to hang the whole thing on during painting. We thought it might make it difficult to push into the ground but that was not the case, it was easy.It does not claim to be squirrel proof and it isn't. Squirrels climb the pole with ease. Because it comes into two pieces it will probably be possible to fit a 'slide-on' squirrel baffle (the more common type) - but we haven't actually tried that yet so can't be sure. Maybe a wrap-round metal baffle is the thing - squirrels can and do gnaw through plastic - but on a first search these seem (not surprisingly) to be more expensive. Finally the price is good for a quality product which should last and last. And just in case you're wondering, no I have no connection with Gap Garden and haven't been asked, persuaded or paid to write this review! - I just felt they and this product deserved a good one because for they've really thought through the design and used quality materials and construction.

Robust
Looks good, easy to put together, it’s the right height and sturdy. Only drawback is it’s square profile means the perspex domed squirrel baffle can’t be fixed to it and squirrels can climb the pole easily.

Nice"n sturdy does it,does it every time.
This is really solid iron which goes into the ground no problem. It doesnt sway about in the weather which can be pretty windy up here in North of Scotland. Had it for a couple of years and it is still going strong. It has to be moved around every couple of months coz of bird food falling onto ground underneath and becoming a bit messy and cant be nice for the birds that are picking up falling scraps of food from feeders. Easy to pull it out the ground and move it ten feet away from where it was before and just push it back into the garden again at a nice new clean bit for our feathered friends. Put the little Allen key somewhere safe so you can find it easily and screw it tight again . This is also higher than other ones which is good for if you have cats visiting your garden and put it out in the middle of your garden where the cats have nowhere to hide and ambush the poor birds otherwise you will just be feeding the cats and not the birds. I will buy again when this one is done.

Disappointed
The one hook is bent out!The fitting was not in the bag only an Allen key, so have had to raid a container of old screws etc to find something to put it together. You can see my complaints from the photographs.Have contacted seller!Such a pity for a potentially study product to be sent out like this as it is quite pricey!Update - the seller has contacted me immediatelyso am impressed by their response!

Great product
Very pleased with this. It’s more decorative than most bird feeder poles and hopefully more robust as it’s solid metal. It’s simple to assemble, although I had a slight issue with mine as the little plate that sits over the screw hole was detached on one side so it was impossible to screw in the grub screw properly. I tried superglue-ing the plate in place but it didn’t hold. In the end I just used some tape to make the lower part of the pole a snugger fit when pushed into the upper part, and it’s fine. I’m sure the seller would have sent a replacement if I had asked, but I opted to fix it myself.
