Victron Energy MultiPlus Compact 120V AC Inverter/Charger 2000VA 12V 80A

I love the way the Victron devices communicate with each other. I just wish their inverters weren’t so expensive! I bought this to replace a non VE inverter I had rated for 2500W. I really liked that one for its price and function but ultimately I wanted one that would communicate with all the other VE products I have. This still throws error codes when the sun goes down and the solar stops producing so I need to figure that out but it works as it should. I wish I had more space for the next step up but this one barely fit.

It can put out a constant 1600 watts and burst well above that level. I can run all of my power tools (electric saws, drills, etc) with this unit. Although they advertise a 9 watt power consumption with no load, I think it is closer to 15 watts. (There are dip switch settings that can be set to lower this by putting it in a "sleep mode".) Overall, I am very pleased with its performance. I think the biggest drawback is that it does not have any built in cable clamps for the DC input cables, and the ones for the AC side are cumbersome to use.

Victron products just work, no question

I do own several Victron devices and have set up cabins and boats around Victron gear. This Multiplus is a good device, specs are relatively conservative. It performs as advertised or a little better. I only had one incident that required help from customer service and that was handled exceptionally well.
