The New Mid-budget King.
I had previously tried the original Soundcore Liberty 4 True Wireless earbuds and while they were exceptionally comfortable to wear its dual driver implementation was incredibly harsh on the high end. High hats were especially painful to listen to and attempting to do corrective EQ would negatively affect the overall sound quality. It was bad enough that I returned them within days. When I read that this newer Liberty 4 NC model was going from a dual driver to a single driver setup I figured I would give the Soundcore lineup a second try. I'm happy to report that the overall ear tip design is still just as comfortable and that the high end harshness has been tamed. Anker's sound profile, to my ear, skews a bit warm versus my more neutral Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3 earbuds. This is by no means a bad thing as it can make longer listening sessions a little less fatiguing. Despite the baseline warmth the buds seem more than capable of producing pleasing high and low end content. The Android app's 8-band EQ easily allows for the sort of control I need to personalize my sound. If you're not one to tinker Anker has supplied a relatively comprehensive list of EQ presets to choose from. The app itself is quick to load, quick to detect the earbuds, and is easy to navigate through a comprehensive list of settings. UI/UX seems to have been a priority for Anker and it shows. The noise cancellation options are more than adequate to drown out your typical home noises. Laundry machines on spin cycle, central air conditioning and the like are effectively muted with only the slightest hint of anything coming through. The overall build quality is nice with tasteful lighting on the magnetized lid release as well as in the case behind the earbud's tips. The lid closes with a satisfying snap and the earbuds, when being put away, are pulled into their respective places with extreme ease. There is just a tiny hint of side to side play on the lid when it is closed and pressure is applied. Whether this will get worse over time will have to be seen. I will say that the previous Libery 4's sliding lid was far more satisfying to operate, but I have no idea how well that mechanism held up over time so for all I know this may still be an improvement. All in all I am pleased with the Soundcore Liberty 4 NC. They may not satisfy a true audiophile, but for someone looking for more budget oriented earbuds with up to date connectivity options I would consider this a very easy set to recommend. For the $79.99 I paid for its introductory pricing I feel like it punches well above its weight.

good sound, good wind cancelling
I've gone through several pairs of cheap and mid-price ear buds (< $100). Three I like are the earfun pro 3, 1more comfobuds pro, and now the Anker Liberty 4NC. Overall the Ankers win hands down. I think they have the best sound and by far the best wind resistance. After you load up their app and connect to the buds it gives you a hearing test to give a base level of response, then gives a bunch of A-B comparisons to a piece of music asking which one you prefer as it tweaks the response curve. I think the end result is great, but I'm no audiophile and am 65, so take that for what it is worth. The other two are good, too (I rate the 1more buds above the earfun's, but I like them all). I got the 1mores first, and if I were only going by sound quality I'd have stopped there (glad I didn't, but I didn't know that at the time!). I usually listen to them when I ride my bike on a local rails-to-trails path. The downfall of the 1mores is that there is a lot of wind noise that comes through. Noise cancelling overall is good, but not for wind. So I saw the earfuns on sale, so tried them. Much better wind noise reduction, but still more than I'd like. Finally I saw these and bought a pair on their launch. As I mentioned above the sound is great, and the wind noise reduction is very, very good. I hear a little from time to time, but most of the time I feel the wind on my face but can only hear it if I am really looking for it. They have a lot of modes you can set it too, but the one that works the best for me against wind is manual mode, maximum (level 5) noise cancelling with wind reduction on. They remember their settings no problem after you take them out of their case. The earfuns seemed to turn off sometimes (go back to non-cancelling mode). The worst thing about that in the earfun case is that in order to connect to the buds with their app you MUST have an internet connection. This was a problem on my last flight as you might imagine. The 1mores were great on the flight -- and no issues about connecting to the app in flight. It was a transatlantic flight and they ran out of juice so I switched to the earfuns for a while so they could get enough charge back into them. With the 1mores the engine noise and other extraneous airplane sounds were almost gone and I enjoyed my music. I have not flown with the Anker's yet. Hopefully they will do as well as the 1more's there (but I'll have the 1more's along just in case!). Supposedly the battery lasts longer in the Anker's, but only ride for about 3 hours at a time so I have not tested that. One final GREAT thing about the Ankers vs the others I've tried is that you can disable the on-bud controls. I always have my phone on my bike, so if I need to change modes I can do so. Since I found settings I like I don't need to anyway.... In the app you can select what every combination of taps does individually. And every combination has a do nothing setting. You'll still get a beep if you trigger the setting while inserting or wiggling the bud around, but it has no effect. Just what I want. If I want to skip a song my phone is right there, usually with the app up that is playing said songs. Sometimes I start hearing wind, and that just means the buds have slipped a bit. A quick twist or wiggle and the wind is gone. They've never fallen out, but I'm riding a recumbent so I'm just sitting in a lawn chair while I pedal. I use these only for listening to music. My wife called me when I was out while using the earfuns and she said I sounded fine. I have not used these so far to talk on the phone while I ride so I cannot speak to that.

Works great and sounds good. So over Ap*le.
I bought these because I was ticked off at A**le because their stuff craps out when a new item comes out. Over that and the price is way to high. These work Perfectly for me and how I use them. Easy to charge and easily adjustable. When these go out I will go with this brand again.

I honestly thought when they didn’t lose charge for 3 days of use something was wrong
I actually contacted support because I genuinely thought something was wrong. I did their troubleshooting and that didn’t work. A day later I checked the app for the battery level again and it FINALLY went down 1 bar (there are 5 bars on the battery icon so I can only assume that one bar is worth about 20% of battery. I had one in either ear for 8hrs a day for 3 days. These are quite loud, and I like loud music but they can truly get too loud. Can’t complain really I do enjoy it, this means I only run them at 40-60% volume at any time. I am truly impressed by the battery life, performance and features of the earbuds and case. The ANC is very good. When music is playing I literally cannot hear people speak. All I see is lips moving ! The case wirelessly charges, but you won’t need to do that often evidently ! If you have a wireless charging pad for AirPods that will work for these as well. The app is easy to use and pretty quick to connect to the buds, not AirPods level of speed but pretty good for a 3rd party connection. The app can be used to fully customize multiple different EQs, set different controls on the buds (there are 4 per each bud, single, double, triple and hold press). Sound quality definitely beats apple and Samsungs flagships earbuds. When I listened to these and discovered all the features, I started questioning why I ever spent $250 on AirPods. Despite all these good features I feel there are some things Anker could improve. A fatal flaw pretty much all TWS earbuds have is the charging case. Yes it charges fast via Type c or wirelessly. But it opens super easy. Which means if it gets dropped your earbuds all pretty much certain to go flying out. I don’t judge too hard for this because pretty much every company that make TWS earbuds do this. The case also feels a bit cheap. It’s very lightweight and the hinge has some light movement too it when closed like the fit isn’t quite perfect. It also collects dust on the inside (closed part of the case where the buds are) when closed. You cannot control volume with the touch controls on the buds, and there is no Hey siri. I wish there was a way to customize the transparency frequency response. I cook for a living and I was wearing one bud with transparency on. I put some oil in the pan (making a crackling sound) well the buds didn’t process that as such. It turned into a very high pitched, loud, staticky sound that was actually quite unbearable. I hurried to turn off transparency after that. Most things it processes ok, but others is sound very weird or digitized. Pros: -Great, slam or deafening ANC -Easy to use, quick connecting app -fully customizable multiple EQs - case charges wirelessly and type c -battery life lasts a super long time -buds recharge super fast in the case -Excellent soundcore sound quality that destroys the competition - Value you can’t beat that won’t break your wallet Cons: -case is a bit flimsy (hinge is a tad loose) -case collects dust on inside when closed -case easily opens to lose buds for potential drops - No swipe control on earbuds -the touch pad on the buds is sort of small, I have to re-tap sometimes. -no volume control or hey siri on buds

Fantastic customer support, Volume issues!
April 18, 2024: Battery life is solid on these. I rarely ever have to charge them. They tick about every box you might have for earbuds, bluetooth, AAC, LDAC, great Active Noise cancelling, battery life, etc. The first pair of earbuds I got had a weird tendency to forget my phone and act really weird when my phone tried to connect to them. They also only played to "65-70db", even showing that way through the app. I contacted support and got immediate help. They quickly sent out another pair of earbuds (not a case) and the swap was easy and the earbuds work great now! P.S. Not sure if this is just placebo, but it seems like it has more bass in AAC mode. I may be wrong about that. AAC mode also allows multiple devices to be connected at the same time. You will be on AAC by default when you get them. Update: November 11th 2025 These earbuds have a fatal flaw where connecting to multiple devices at once will eventually cause these earbuds to only function at about half of the volume, without any volume limiter active (there is one in the app). My earbuds are on the latest firmware and they are having the same issue that my 1st pair did. The volume limit does not apply to the noice cancellation or transparency, just audio. When I turn the earbuds all the way up, they only play at 75db peak (indicated by safe volume system in the app), half volume is 50db peak (also indicated in safe volume section), both WITHOUT volume limiters. At this price point, these earbuds should not be cracking apart and failing to output sound at the intended volume. If you reset the earbuds (with earbuds in case, hold button 10 seconds), it often fixes it, but then it comes right back. I believe it has to deal with the multi-point/ AAC mode where the earbuds connect to multiple devices at the same time. I think the issue occurs either with different volume levels across the connected devices (issue occuring when earbuds are put back into case) or having an android and an iPhone connected, or when playing different things at once. Something in this mode causes it I believe. Also, these earbuds have a noticeable static noise when ANC is on (Every ANC mode), so they are not the best for night time if you want absolute silence. I still like these and use them all the time, but they are just flawed.

This product has a known defect and the Soundcore does not know when it will be fixed.
These earbuds WOULD be awesome if they worked properly. The noise cancelling is really bad. When it does work, it sounds amazing. But that only lasts a few minutes. Then you start losing bass randomly in each earbud. The sound increases and decreases randomly. I turned off all the touch features, reset them. Nothing worked. I contacted Soundcore support, who is great, and they had me send the buds to them and they shipped me a new pair. These had the problem worse. I went online and saw many posts saying it's a known issue and people are waiting for Soundcore to fix it. Here is a direct quote from their support: "We greatly appreciate your continued patience and support. Regarding the product issue you encountered, we have received the latest confirmation from the technical team and therefore wish to have an open and honest discussion with you. First, we would like to update you on the latest situation: After thorough investigation, our technical team has basically determined that the abnormal sound issue you are having may be related to the hardware and software interaction mechanism under specific usage scenarios (such as the tightness of the earbud insertion, sudden changes in ambient noise, etc.). This is a relatively complex low-level interaction issue, and the team is currently working diligently to resolve it completely through a subsequent firmware update. Therefore, we are suggesting a refund for you, primarily based on two considerations for you: 1. Replacing the order may not fundamentally solve the problem: Since the root cause of the problem points to a specific interaction logic between the product firmware and hardware, even if we replace it with a brand new device, the new device is still highly likely to have similar issues under the same usage scenarios until the fixed firmware is officially released. We do not want you to have the same inconvenience and waiting again. 2. Uncertainty Regarding the Repair Timeline: While our technical team is working tirelessly, fixing, testing, and verifying such underlying issues requires a rigorous timeframe. We cannot currently guarantee a specific firmware release date. Therefore, we believe that offering you a return and refund is the clearest, most responsible, and best way to protect your rights. This is not an attempt to evade the issue—on the contrary, it's precisely because we have thoroughly investigated the complexity of the problem and are unsure how long you will have to wait that we should not burden you with this uncertain risk." So I'm returning them. Great support. Would have been a great product if it actually worked. I thought that just using the Normal setting, but it does it there too. I really liked the idea of these. Very disappointed. UPDATE: I did some more searching and found some reddit posts talking about how the proprietary tips weren't deep enough. Following their advice I bought the SpinFit NEO for IEM in Medium. They were not easy to get on, but got them on the third try. The Result? MAJOR DIFFERENCE! Noise cancelling is way more stable, but still a little buggy. Still much better! They don't move in my ears and make a perfect seal. I have zero issues in normal or transparent mode now. The sound on these buds was always amazing, just inconsistent. These tips took care of that. So on to the buds. They have a lot of great features. The battery life is insane. They charge pretty quick. You need the app to really get the sound out. Once you customize your EQ, you get some serious sound. The touch controls are cool too, but I'm not a touch person so sometimes it gets annoying. Their customer service is too notch too.

Fantastic headphones
It's always too early to tell with tech items, so here's my day one review. I'll update this as the months go by if anything changes. For context, I've been working at a warehouse where power tools are always blaring. The ANC has done wonders to mitigate this noise -- I can only hear the loudest of tools and it's a very manageable hum, with my music being louder than it (65 db, as determined from the app). It's not completely silent, as many say, but that's to be expected from earbuds. I own the Life Q30s from Soundcore as well and can attest to their quality, so I had some high expectations for these. Needless to say they've done the job quite well. For looks, they're great. The case is cool, too. For comfort, not sure yet. I never used earbuds extensively before, so my ears have felt some discomfort, but that might just be the need to get used to this. The app has been great and the UI is a big improvement from when I first got my Q30s. My one qualm is the lack of volume control. It would be nice to have that available on the earbuds (perhaps a tap macro in a future update) rather than having to reach and grab my phone. But, that doesn't detract anything from my liking of the buds themselves. As for sound quality -- the bad reviews that say the sound sucks have never touched the Soundcore app. The "Soundcore Signature" default just isn't that good... most people can agree with this. But once you change that and find something you like, the quality is wonderful. Overall, a really good start for these. I'm excited to see how these will go. UPDATE: it's now October, so roughly 3 months since I bought these headphones. I must say I've had no major issues so far. There have been some quirks -- sometimes the sound goes all wonky for a split second as if the headphones are having trouble deciding what sound profile they were using. This only happens once every few days, and I use these headphones a LOT, so it's a drop in the ocean. There was also a time where the headphones somehow became uncoupled overnight -- one headphone connected and the other didn't, and after a scare thinking that the earbuds were busted I just reset them and all was good. This only happened once. Sound quality hasn't changed, comfortability hasn't changed, and the NC is a lot more noticeable in a busy college environment. I still heavily recommend these, they've been wonderful and honestly worth the price tag.

ery Impressed So Far
I needed to purchase earbuds for two reasons: 1) I wanted a noise cancelling option for a long flight I'm going to be taking and 2) I wanted a high quality sound for my music and games. I considered the Sony or Bose earbuds, but just could not justify the cost. Enter the Anker Liberty. I've got to say I'm pleased as punch with these earbuds so far. When I first put them in they were soft and comfortable and felt secure in my ears. They didn't feel loose or like I would lose one easily. I'm pretty sure I could wear them for a while and not feel discomfort - important for the long flight! I've never used a noise cancelling earbud before and even when I was setting them up I was shocked at how much noise I COULDN'T hear...and a vacuum cleaner being run in the next room. You don't realize how much background noise is going on in your everyday life until you can't hear it anymore! Set up was simple and I was quickly and quickly able to set up the earbuds on all three of my devices - phone, tablet, and laptop. I downloaded the app on my phone, when through setup, including a firmware update and then manually paired them with the laptop and tablet. I was quite surprised that I could pair the earbuds with 2 devices at once without having to disconnect from 1 device. Sadly, I couldn't use with all three devices at once (the computer would disconnect the tablet and vice versa) but re-establishing the connection was easy. (Also, I could never see a world where I would be listening to three separate devices at once.) Now for the sound - wow! I have a pair of very cheap earbuds (think less than $50) that I use to workout. The sound is OK, and gets me through. The sound with the Anker Liberty? No comparison! I could hear EVERYTHING crystal clear. Music is awesome with just enough bass and videos are like surround sound. In one of the videos I was using to test a there was a sound of someone knocking on a window and I actually turned my head to MY window for a second, thinking it came from inside the room. There are things with these earbuds I cannot speak to yet. I don't know much about the battery life as I haven't really used them that much, nor have I played around with the app to see what features and functions are available. As of right now, for price, comfort, noise cancelling, and sound, I don't feel like I could have done better!

Amazing quality, sound, & ANC, especially for wind
After testing the product out for a couple of days, I am in love. These fit comfortably in the ear, although they may slip out when it gets a bit dirty or when you bend down. The earbuds however have very strong magnets and won't fall out when falling. The case is a bit chunky, but I did not mind as it still fits in my pocket. I love the opening mechanism of the case, it's fun to fidget with. Moving on to the sound quality, I was surprised at how good it was. The hear ID equalizer makes a great difference, and the sound is very adjustable to your liking. The call quality is definitely an improvement from my previous earbuds, and I can easily talk in windy weather and noisy environments for the recipient to understand me. What was a deal breaker to me was the noise canceling function during wind, as I live in a pretty windy area. You have to turn on the wind canceling on, but only once. You can barely hear the wind. I've heard complaints about the transparency mode, which I agree is not so great but also not needed to be honest. Extra details include: - audio automatically stops when you take off one ear, which takes a bit like 3 seconds - battery is amazing, I used it for a day and it has only gone down by 10% - noise canceling amazing, can't hear surrounding conversations around me when audio turned on - touch function is a bit sensitive, and double/triple tapping is a bit inconvenient as it often does not pick up as separate commands. Overall, great quality for the price but some functionality is a minor inconvenience which i can get over for this price.
