Review: Heartbreaking and amazing - As a Bucky fan this book was beautiful. While this is based on the comic version of Bucky I kept seeing Sebastian Stan in my mind as I read this and could imagine the emotion in his face. Seeing young Bucky and the Winter Soldier at two different times makes it even more heartbreaking. Highly recommend. Review: Comic VS Marvel - I bought this book thinking it would give me more info on Bucky Barnes, like advertised. While it did show Hydras process of torturing Bucky and i think did a great job of writing his character, the thing that REALLY bothered me was the fact they basically made a whole new universe and changed VERY frictional parts of his lore. Ex: Bucky fell from a plane instead of the accurate freight train car, and also met Steve in the army instead of being childhood friends. Him meeting Steve later on particularly bothered me as it kind of removed the depth of their friendship, but overall a pretty good book. I really wish they would put a disclaimer though that it’s the authors own universe and NOT canon or overall changed very crucial details of canon. (MAJOR EDIT) just found out that this is based off COMIC bucky and not marvel bucky. I had no idea they had separate story’s. So sorry to the author. I love this book now that i know. I would reccomend another Bucky book, but with marvel. Also, please put a disclaimer it’s comic bucky, as it can be confusing.
