Hands-down best fire starter
We use it for the open wood fire place as well as charcoal BBQ. Works every time, even in windy and humid conditions.

Good producted and seller
I keep these on hand for my fire pit, and one does the job, they are handy to use, and easy to store. As a matter of fact I will be ordering another box right away. Cheaper than most others I've tried. and starts faster.

WORK GREAT, MAKE FIRE!
These have worked fantastic for me. This past winter I started burning a fire about every week in a firepit. After being frustrated with wood that wasn't totally dry and running through piles of newspaper and cardboard, I broke down and bought a case of these firestarters. These things are really nice. They take a little while to get lit while holding them, but once lit they don't go out and they burn a really long time (at least 10 minutes, seems like more). They smell just like candles when you light them which is nice (no chemical smell). The shape is really smart too. The half-sphere allows you to light the "edge", tilt it down a little to make sure it is caught, and then set it round-side-down. You can't smother the flame this way. Because the wood I'm using isn't totally dry, I usually require one to get the kindling started and then another later to get it roaring. But it sure beats the heck out of running through all that newspaper and cardboard! And with dry wood you would have no problem getting it roaring with just one. Great product, great price.

Forget using a match!!
Once you get them going, their fine, but forget using a match or a regular butane lighter to get them started. A torch or wind resistant butane lighter works well, but good luck with anything else.

A daily necessity thru winter
I heat by woodstove so winter means starting a fire in my woodstove twice a day. These nuggets make it so easy! I just put in two dry pieces of spruce and wedge two of these nuggets in between. I light them with a propane torch for about 30 seconds to get them burning nicely. It’s the fastest way to get my fires going. I keep them in a plastic bucket with a lid to prevent igniting. I also use the crumbs from the box, just sprinkle them in the stove and light em up.

Burn well
We have ordered these multiple times. Perfect for helping to get the camp fire started. They are quick to start and burn long enough to ensure the wood logs are started.

Great for Wood Stove
When I bought my house the seller had these for the wood stove. I was impressed at how fast they catch and used them all through the winter. I since bought more and will continue to use them. There’s quite a bunch of them in the box so I think it’s a great deal for the price and the effectiveness!

Was looking for something to start the charcoal in my bbq and these worked great. If you buy them for this though I suggest breaking them in half because a whole 1 is not needed

If I were to describe these lighting nuggets in one word, I would say that they are impeccable. To start off, I work in the bakery section of a restaurant. We have two shifts for the bakers who work there; the opening shifts and the closing shifts. Whenever I work, I am always scheduled to be the opener. In the restaurant, my job as the baker is to make pita bread and manakeeshes in a wood oven. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to start the wood oven. Since the oven is not electric or a gas oven, it has to be started my scratch. I would have to get pieces of wood and put it in the oven, and then light up newspaper then throw it in and hope for the best. This normally does not work on its own so I would have to take kindling and throw it in to see if that catches fire. I would have to repeat these steps over and over again until the fire not only starts but it is steady. If the fire starts then dies down, I would have to go through the process again. This method was the way I started the oven everyday, but I was very tired because it was not only exhausting, but very time consuming. I usually start my shift every day at 9am but I would have to come for 8am because it took me an hour every day to start the fire. Exhausted at this process, I looked online to see if there was any easier way to start the oven. I read advantages on using fire starters and then I came across this particular brand by Lighting Nuggets. I read all of the helpful reviews and that motivated me to take the plunge to purchase my first box of fire starters. The package arrived quickly in the mail, in less then 3 days which was amazing since I needed them ASAP for work. Inside of the box consists of 50 nuggets which appears to be made out of some kind of wax and lint on the inside and kindling coated around each nugget. Each nugget has a flat base and a round top and it is about 2 inches in length. The next day I received them, I took them to work to test their magic. What I did was I took a piece of wood and placed it lying down, and then I lit the nugget and placed it next to it. Also tip, when you light the nugget, make sure to let the flame run for at least 20 seconds or else the fire will go out as soon as you let it off a source of flame. And it is much easier to light the nugget from the round part instead of the flat part. What I do at work is I take one of those cooking grates that are used for grilling meat and then I put that on top of a gas oven with the nugget placed on top. I turn on the stove and let the fire from the stove fun for 20 seconds. The I go to my wood oven and place the nugget in lying next to the piece of wood I had already placed in the beginning. After that I take small pieces or thin pieces of wood and I lay them on top of each other, kinda like making a tipi. After that I leave it alone. There is no maintenance, or baby sitting that needs to be done. I don't even use kindling or newspaper anymore. It's just the fire starter and pieces of wood. Whats great about these is that instead of taking me 1 hr to start the oven, it only takes me maximum 15 minutes. These fire starters have really helped me a lot. They made my job much easier and they do the job. You only need one if you do everything correctly and the box will last me a very long time.

These need a good source to get them lit but then they do the job quite well! By a good source I mean something more than just a match works best. At my home I use a handheld butane lighter, or a propane torch simply because they work quickly. A match or two will light them in good conditions but takes a bit of time and patience. Once lit however these nuggets provide a very good flame and seems to last 10 or 15 minutes. While camping, I use the hand lighter (yellow thing in photo) and never have had an issue with time to light. The flame is hot enough to light whatever you're trying to set on fire. These are all I ever use.

I use them for lighting the fireplace each evening. I light the edge of one nugget with a lighter and place it in the center of the hearth and then arrange four pieces of wood around it. Two pieces are placed in parallel up against either side of the burning nugget and then two are laid on top of them crosswise so the flame rises up the middle. Works every time.

Used these all summer for campfires and also for my camp stove which runs on wood. Convenient, light weight. Using them this winter for my fireplace.
