Retains heat well.
Bought this because I wanted to avoid having to reheat my meals several times during dinner. I keep my house at 55F during the winter. This donabe was the best option of all the soup bowls I could find on Amazon. I had been using Corelware which are great for being chip and stain resistant as well as light in weight at 11 oz. Makes a nice salad bowl but doesn't keep the soup warm very long even when I pre-heat it in the mini-oven. The donabe's bowl is 37 oz. I bring it up to 200F for 30 minutes and I can finish eating without needing a couple trips to the microwave. Also, since it's glazed ceramic I doubt that it really needs any seasoning before use as the instructions say. So far this has worked well for soup as well as spaghetti, shrimp creole, and chicken paprikash. Haven't figured out shabu shabu yet.

An awesome pot for making delicious meals!
It’s smaller than I expected but still makes plenty of food for leftovers. I’ve filled it so full a couple times that I was sure it was gonna boil over but it hasn’t yet. I’m thoroughly impressed with this pot👍👍

A little hard to clean
Bigger than I expected...I should have read dimensions more closely...works great and came faster than expected. Difficult to clean though.

Perfect for 1 or 2 persons
Beautiful Pot, easy to use on a stove top or portable cook stove. Medium sized. Seasoning is important. After that, cleaning is quick. DO NOT CLEAN IN DISHWASHER. Just mild soap. The flavor of my dishes has not disappointed. Yum

Bowls are nice but the lids are so fragile they cannot survive the shipping
We bought two of these and the lids on both of them were smashed to pieces on arrival. When I asked Amazon for a refund, they are happy to do that but require that I return the broken bowls to a UPS Store. The problem is, the nearest UPS store is a 45 minute drive away. It's not worth $68 to spend two hours of my limited life span to get a $68 refund. I'm out $68 and have two great bowls with no lids. The bowls seem like a great product, but they cannot survive mail order shipping. Don't do it.

Love this small pot!
I love this small pot. I purchased it to make some Korean stews (delicious!), but I have found many uses for it, even in making my Midwestern American casseroles; it is very versatile. The pot was inexpensive. Cleanup is easy! I highly recommend it.

Great!
Eat from the same pot you cook in! One dish to clean. I was worried that this wouldn’t be big enough but it was perfect! It’s beautiful also.
