It's GREAT to be living in the current age, where technology seems to be giving us so many products to assist our daily lives. That said - this is my favourite recent purchase for pain relief. I had a faithful hot water bottle for a few years, and each night I would go through the routine of filling it up, cleaning any spills and making sure it was sealed properly...UNTIL, one night when it sprung a leak. Since then and that horrible experience, I have steered clear of hot water bottles.However, I came across this one on Amazon and had hoped Santa would bring it, so eventually purchased it myself and it is one of my best buys thus far this year.PROS-------1. The unit is sealed so no filling with water, emptying and especially leaks.2. Charges via a prong which presses gently into the hot water bottle and has a closure covering when being used.3. Speed of recharge us excellent, as this unit charges after about 5 minutes in fact. The red light goes off to visibly show you the unit is ready, and the noise of the charging process stops too.4. Retains heat throughout the night for 5-7 hours depending on whether insulated. That is to say the unit works best under a duvet or blanket, as it loses heat quickly if competing with the air and environment.5. Nice, tactile and fluffy covering.6. Has inserts on one side for hands, so unit can be used as a hand warmer, or to say hold against the tummy for stomach ache or pain.7. Heats very well, and is truly as effective as a traditional hot water bottle, if not better.CONS-------1. Does not heat to same level consistently, as I have found it to be less warm at times.2. Will not reheat the unit until absolutely cooled down.3. The cover cannot be removed for cleaning.4. The unit can get TOO hot, where it is burning hot.CONCULSION----------------This rechargeable hot water bottle has revolutionised my hot water bottle experience, making it much easier to heat the bottle and safer as the unit is sealed. The speed at which the unit charges is really quick, so it is ready from cold in about 5 minutes. That said, I have found the unit is not always as hot each time, and there is a waiting time to recharge, so it won't allow you to recharge when still warm. At night, I am finding the unit lasts until morning even when I have a lie-in. Excellent for backache sufferers, like myself as this unit is so easy to use and quick, plus it does really help through the night. I will check with the retailer about the variation in heat levels, but apart from that, this is a sweet hot water bottle!!!UPDATE to Original Review (9 March 2019)---------I wrote to the supplier regarding the variation in heat levels on charging this hot water bottle, and they kindly sent out a replacement very quickly. This new hot water bottle is certainly heating to a higher degree, and visibly inflates as it recharges. My opinion is unchanged as to the 5 stars I gave this product, as it is a brilliant advancement of technology for hot water bottles. What I can add is that the company without any qualms listened to my concern and acted, which is exactly what you pray for in customer service!!Updated on 1 May 2019----------------------------I feel that I must amend my review rating and update the details about this hot water bottle as the replacement hot water bottle has failed as well. The company replaced the original hot water bottle and all seemed to be fine for a few weeks, then the red light on the charging device stopped working. The device continued for about a week and is now dead!I contacted the company and they simply refunded the purchase price; however there does appear to be some issues with the functionality of this device. Two faulty items may be bad luck, or the sign there that is indeed a faulty batch of these products.However, I reiterate this is a nice product - the material is soft and comforting, and when working it keeps you warm through the night. That said, you do need a bit more longevity than this, and I do have concerns now that two devices have failed on me. Sorry, but I want to be honest to other potential buyers!

We loved this product and would have given it a 5* rating but yesterday when we turned it on it started to heat but then there was a bang with a shower of sparks from the socket on the device itself which tripped our electrics. We have had this warmer for a while but it hadnt had a lot of use. Don't know whether we were just unlucky to get a faulty one or whether there is a wider problem.

This was purchased to replace a water-filled bottle. It is very efficient, but gets just as hot as one filled from the kettle, which can be a little uncomfortable against the skin, even through clothes, hence the four stars. But it is still less fuss and mess than the traditional style. A good purchase.

There's nothing nicer than hugging a hot water bottle when its chilly. These heat up really well, and stay warm for most of the night. Great for cold fingers too. I like that it has the pocket for your hands... lovely when reading in bed to keep hands warm.

Once I was helped with my query of this item and recieved a new one it’s perfect, so easy to use and safer than pouring hot water into a bottle, helps my condition when I’m in pain, I would highly recommend this to anyone needing to stay warm or to help ease pain etc

Very quick to heat up. Heat lasts several hours. I use it to warm my baby's cot before placing him in it. (I remove it while baby is in there.)As described, it does give off a smell, but it's not very strong.

Wonderful idea but unfortunately they developed a leak. However they were replaced promptly by mama baba and so far no more leaks.

Sometimes cuts out before full heating reached. Got to be careful with positioning on switch unit. Otherwise fine.
