## Overview

This 5.8GHz directional patch antenna delivers up to 8dBi gain with a focused 40° beam, featuring a true SMA male connector for direct compatibility with RF Explorer devices. Designed for high-sensitivity detection and signal generation in the 5600-5900MHz range, it’s perfect for WiFi, FPV, and wireless video applications requiring precise directional scanning.

## Description

The 5.8Ghz directional antenna is a high gain, excellent choice to use RF Explorer and LATNEX SPA analyzer to scan in a specific direction. As opposed to omnidirectional antennas such as dipole type, this patch antenna has an 8dBi gain in the front face. It includes a true SMA connector (not RP-SMA as most in the market) and therefore fits perfectly in all RF Explorer models. This antenna is suggested for high sensitivity detection of RF sources with RF Explorer Spectrum Analyzer, including distant transmitters, focus and orientate antennas or find nearby hidden bug devices. It is also perfect to find your lost drone or RC plane as long as still transmit valid signal. Alternatively, it can be used in the RF Explorer Signal Generator to produce a quality long distant RF source to determine path loss and adjust antenna orientation in a RF link. Specifications Impedance: 50ohm Connector: SMA male Type: Patch articulated Characterized response: 5600-5900MHz Radiation lobe: 40 degrees VSWR: <2.0 Polarization: vertical Gain: up to 8dBi Max power: 50W RoHS compliant

Review: Directional - I bought this antenna because my neighbor was spraying radiation across the street disrupting and damaging security cameras...even wired ,non-wifi ones. I was hoping this unit would show pulses coming from his house and show virtually none when facing the other direction. After doing many tests all directions seemed about equal power and so the results weren't helpful. I'm now curious if wifi signals aren't bounced off of TV screens and other glass in the house for erroneous results? I was able to prove it was him by recording him from a camera he was not aware of and all pulses stopped when he moved his attention to the new camera (human behavior versus signal proof) .
Review: Had a rattle from the beginning, should have paid more attention - This antenna always had a slight rattle sound vs my 2.4ghz version which didn't. I only used it once and put it away, not sure if it was working. I took it out more recently and cracked it open to find all the internals loose. I was able to stick the metal plates back in place, and it seems to work properly now, but I'm not sure if they will hold. Maybe I just got a dud, but buyer beware.

### ⭐⭐ Had a rattle from the beginning, should have paid more attention
*by B***. on August 10, 2021*

### ⭐ Very poor performance.
*by S***. on February 7, 2021*

Very poor performance at 5.8ghz. Expect to lose usable signal in less that 50m when literally pointed directly at the transmitter with clear line of sight. Furthermore the build is incredibly cheap such as loose and floppy joints that won't stay in position.
