Works well, but gets toasty.
The 256 GB flash drive works as expected and offers reliable storage in a compact metal design. However, the metal casing tends to get noticeably hot during extended read/write operations. A simple workaround is attaching something metal (paperclip, nail cutter) to act as a heat sink, which effectively cools it down. Overall, it's functional and well-made, but the heat issue is worth noting. Heat is a small issue, I recommend it especially if the price is right.

Reliable small Flash Drive
May not be the fastest, may not have the largest capacity, may not have the smallest profile, but this drive is reliable and great for bringing data from one location to another and have the drive boot immediately without failure. Very happy with the utility and reliability. Can't go wrong for the price and peace of mind.

It gets hot
It's small and looks nice, but it does get pretty hot. The speed is okay, and storage space is as advertised. Honestly I would have expected less heat since its from such a reputable company.

Compact little Flash Drive, great value, tight fit
Corners were a little tight and had some trouble connecting it to several devices. Finally forced it into a slot after an hour or so of fidgeting with it. Great speed transfers, but gets really hot up quickly. Not really an issue so far as the ,metal casing helps with heat and protects it well.I use it to store various movies and 4k videos for TV screensaver. Over 100GB of videos transferred in less than an hour.

Very nice
The molded metal formfactor means that it's easy to add to your keychain and always have it handy; since the hole is in the metal body of the drive itself that means no tiny metal ring or plastic tab to break off. As long as you don't loose your keys, you're pretty much guaranteed that the flashdrive is still with them.Speed is pretty decent, with a caveat: it gets *really* slow when you have more than one copy job writing to the drive at the same time, it will take literally 10+ times longer to finish than if you copy them as two separate batches one after the other. The metal body of the drive also gets pretty hot when in use, but so far I haven't seen any reliability issues.

i got this to record video on my Sling AirTV but it really didn't work. this is no fault of SanDisk. i kept it because it works for other things and it was on sale.

SanDisk 512GB Ultra Luxe USB 3.2 Gen 1 Flash Drive
I bought the SanDisk 512GB Ultra Luxe USB 3.2 Gen 1 Flash Drive to replace a flash drive that, after several years of use, finally went bad.Pros and Cons:Pros:It's tiny and sleek, and the metal shell appears strong and sturdy. It can fit on a keychain and has a good amount of memory- 512GB. It's also a USB 3.2 Gen 1 version that is supposed to do transfers up to 400 mb/s.Cons:I just got the flash drive and plugged it into my 2020 Macbook Air M1, and after just 5 minutes, the drive was extremely hot to the touch. It's much hotter than other flash drives I've used. I tried to move 6.9GB of data over to the flash drive. Something that should have taken seconds but came back with a window that said it would take 13 hours. -WTH!!! I couldn't believe it, so I canceled the transfer and repeated to transfer it again, and it came back with the same window info. - 13 hrs. I decided to let it follow through with the transfer to see what would happen. After 8 minutes, I gave up. I unplugged the SanDisk flash drive and plugged in another flash drive (Patriot Rage XT 128GB USB 3.0) that I bought back in 2014. This time, the transfer took 43 seconds. I don't know why the SanDisk flash drive I bought was not performing correctly, but I returned it the next day to Amazon for a full refund. Lastly, I also had some difficulty plugging this SanDisk flash drive in and definitely had to put some extra strength into pulling it out. It was extremely tight-fitting compared to 2 other drives I have. I cannot recommend this specific SanDisk flash drive.
