This book as strung a cord with me that brings me comfort and everlasting faith in humanity that "real" is still available to the common man amidst the countless smoke screen, misinformation and narcissistic self-teaching resources that have over saturated mainstream media today. David apparently is a man who rides the wave of adventure and absolute freedom, through the darkness and the light, and although his story implies he's been JUST good enough to straddle the edge between failure and success, it's clear he has conquered the lowest of lows and tasted the highest of highs. This in itself is a dream we all should embrace, for without the lows, there can be no appreciation of the highs. Most let their fear impose on their ability to take chances for better days and never take on the risk of captaining ships in rough seas. If you are looking for cheap advice or explicit tactics on how to become a millionaire, you might want to keep looking, this is a book of struggle and adaptation and how to manage personal turmoil and achievements. It offers a personal view of the psychological struggles of trading and gives you a raw look at the favorable and unfavorable conditions and consequences of being a fulltime trader. Bravo!

The book shows what day trading really is with it's ups and downs. I had a good laugh when reading some of the stories and also never felt so close to crying over a book.As a trader myself at some point I was affraid that staring at these candlesticks for countless hours irreversibly wrecks traders emotionally and numbs the minds. David Hale has erased all these fears as his book is written with passion, wit and is full of true wisdom that only comes from the sharpest minds.

I’m not a day trader nor was I planning on being one, but I surprisingly found this book to be very entertaining and a constant page turner. The author takes you on both a professional and personal journey, detailing the highs and lows and of both, with a slight comedic touch. Admittedly I can’t deny that after reading a few of his trading ideas and strategies, I’ve been feeling the itch to learn a little more and begin dabbling in the market.

I have met David in the past and was curious about his job and what seemed to be his constant travels. I don't know much about finance or trading so I thought this book might help me. It definitely filled me in on his story; it was quite a ride. The story was funny, interesting, and very dramatic. I also learned a lot about trading, it's a lot different from what I imagined. That kind of stress isn't for me, but it was interesting to learn about this strange world.

As someone who is dabbling in the industry, this was an enjoyable read because it provided invaluable lessons, while also being extremely entertaining. David is brutally honest and takes you through his journey in a down to earth, unpretentious way. A rare find to learn and be taken though a fascinating story at the same time.

Proud of my boy David for sharing the ups and downs of his trading journey. If you want to learn about the high highs and the low lows and everything in between in the life of a day trader then you should read this book.

Really interesting and honest review of the ups and downs of trading. I throughly enjoyed this book and the view of the psychology needed to trade.

A very good book on trading without a single chart or concrete example? Yes it is possible.Most of the books on trading try to introduce the reader to the market instruments, a method, elements of risk management and trading psychology (if they are any good). They are full of charts and examples of winning trades.David Hale really trades for a living. Contrary to most people in the domain who either started in the finance industry or started with a “normal” career and got interested later in trading as a side hustle and a promise to riches, he jumped in right after college. This is what he did his whole career. The book will not teach you a method or transmit the holly grail of trading. But it is full of important wisdoms about the importance of volatility, of finding your own niche, of not trying to predict the markets and the grinding nature of day trading.This roller coaster of a life that trading can bring is a cautionary tale but the author writes in such an enjoyable and humorous way that it is still a life worth reading about.
