The HDMI out is a must have all the USB microscopes I have tried which were not quite as expensive as this one had a delay which is much higher than acceptable especially if you're doing anything like soldering under the camera. For the price the build quality seems decent enough but could be better. It has a similar build quality to microscopes in the $50-100 range. The speed and image quality seems much better than scopes in that range and I could not find anything less than $200 with HDMI output. All in all I think it's well worth the price I paid.
