A "Must Have" in every hunting pack.
The Havalon Piranta lilne has several different models. From what I know, there is a caping model that has a smaller handle and the Blaze that accepts the thicker 60A blade. Other than that the only difference I can tell among the other models is appearance. The people at Havalon are very helpful and even answer the phone and talk to you.I used one of my Havalons for the first time this spring (well, except for trimming some plastic sheeting in very close quarters). I cleaned two turkeys with it. My hunting buddy was so impressed, he bought one.Earlier this month, each of my grandsons got a deer on opening day and trapped a hog the next. Except for one of them getting a bit heavy handed and breaking a blade, they cleaned the deer and quartered the hog. We even quartered two other hogs for another hunter. If you let these knives do the work, they will - and exceptionally so.I hate sharpening knives. I have a collection of the best of them and defer to the Havalon. They are precise, sharp, and one blade will clean an entire animal or more without changing it. I only use my heavier knives for going through joints (bone joints - not taverns).I ordered a Havalon Barracuda, a Piranta Blaze, and this model Z. I ended up with 5 of them. I kept the Barracuda and two of the Piranta's (each with a different blade configuration) and gave each of my grandsons one. They were thrilled!!!Follow the instructions when changing blades and use pliers. The blades are crazy sharp and don't care if it is your finger or deer hide in front of them.To sum it up, I'll quote my grandson when I handed him his knife, "Oh Wow, a Havalon!!!".

Awesome knife, wicked sharp- plan on being careful
This is a knife for those of you who want something unbelievably light and wicked sharp. Dressed, quartered and boned a bull with just two blades and it is still dangerously sharp.I bet it weighs just a ounce more than most of your portable sharpening steels.-added 11/2015- after dressing out another elk I have to say there must be a bad batch of blades out there- I broke two within 10 minutes and I really wasn't doing anything nutty. Weird- love to know if anyone else had this problem- good thing I had another knife.

Great Knife, super sharp and I like the disposable ...
Great Knife, super sharp and I like the disposable blades, but the pocket clip gets lose and the tiny screws that hold it in place are screwed into the plastic part of the knife, so it will never tighten. I will try some Lock-tight on it as see how that works.

but blade not long enough nor sturdy enough for skinning deer
Yes very sharp, but blade not long enough nor sturdy enough for skinning deer; but it even says on the package once you receive it that it is not recommended for skinning; and that's what we bought it for!! It also tries to cut all the way through the hide instead of helping with the skinning process...

Coltello eccellente.
