Elaine - BRITA **Q: Would maxtra cartridges fit this jug, as the maxra plus onces are supplied with it?.** A: Yes Both cartilage fits in this jug.. **Q: Can i use brita cartridges that are not maxtra plus (so, amazon basics and maxtra? simple question with no information.** A: It works with generic Maxtra-style cartridges from my supermarket. **Q: What are the tiny black partials that are seen in the water** A: The particles you are seeing in your filtered water sound like particles of carbon dust which are part of the cartridge contents. To remove any carbon dust which may be present, preparation of your cartridge is crucial and we recommend the following process: 1. Remove packaging from cartridge. 2. Fill basin/sink with cold water. 3. Immerse cartridge under water and vigorously shake from side to side for 10 seconds. (you will notice small bubbles rising to the surface of the water from the cartridge). 4. When the bubbles have stopped, remove the cartridge from basin/jug and place in the system. 5. Filter 2 - 3 batches of water through the system to remove any carbon dust from the cartridge (carbon dust can become dislodged during transit). Your cartridge should now be fully operational - BRITACare ## Frequently Bought Together - BRITA Marella Water Filter Jug Graphite (2.4L) Half Year Pack incl. 6X MAXTRA PRO All-in-1 Cartridge - Fridge-Fitting jug with Digital LTI and Flip-Lid - Now in Sustainable Smart Box Packaging - Waterspecialist Filter Replacement for All Waterdrop® Pitcher Filtration System, Fits Waterdrop WD-PF-01A Plus, Reduces PFOA/PFOS, Chlorine, Last Up to 3 Months or 200 Gallons (Pack of 2) - 6 Ft Flat Extension Cord, Tcstei Ultra-Thin Flat Plug Surge Protector Power Strip, 3-Sided Outlet Extender, 8 AC Outlets and 4 USB Ports(1 USB C) for Home, Office, Dorm Room Essentials, ETL, White --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sk/products/540342024-water-filter-jug-maxtra-marella-6x-pureperformance-cartridges](https://www.desertcart.sk/products/540342024-water-filter-jug-maxtra-marella-6x-pureperformance-cartridges) --- *Product available on Desertcart Slovakia* *Store origin: SK* *Last updated: 2026-11-02*
