Seems to work I tested it using a ScanDisk Extreme 64GB thumb drive. Read and write a bunch of pictures. Of course this is rated to 5GB per second and there is no thumb drive around that fast so my little test didn't tax the system at all. When I plugged the thumb drive directly to the USB 3.0 computer port and transferred a couple GB of photos the rate was 200 MB/s Write and Read. Pretty fast for a thumb drive. When plugged into a USB 2.0 port the speed was 30MB/S read and 25MB/s Write. I then used this cable. The USP port transferred at 195MB/s Read and Write and the USB 2 transferred at 25MB/s Read and write. So at the lower end of the performance criteria, this cable is pretty much transparent. It is hard to say what caused the 195MB/s reading. Now I don't have to stretch around under the table to get to the USB 3.0 port on the back of my tower. It seems well built too. I am happy for now.
