Simple and effective
Used on seasoned oak. Will cut from square stock though much easier when you taper the end a bit. Best results after 8 siding on the saw. Sizes are accurate and holds joints well. An elegant and well made addition to the toolbox

Not good!
Easy to use, although no instructions. Quite expensive way of producing poor quality dowels - ragged, not reliable width, and a bit bent.

Works like a champ
Very straightforward. Screwed it down to a 2 x 4, clamped it in a vice, cut some square profile blanks on the table saw, and away I went. not rocket science, and you don't have to be all that accurate in your blanks. Just be sure there is a complete profile for the round section, and it will fit in the block. Even made some out of split firewood. Some surprisingly straight ones from firewood. You do have to sand them with the grain as well as spin sand them across the grain. 5 stars!

bad product packing
DISLIKE no instructions and their tool for adjusting the blade is wrong size.Bad deal!

Extra work
It might same money but not time. Wood has to be close to hole size for it work. Then only part of dowel was usable.
