Chewing on the fingers was proving to make them red, chapped and sling drool. Works like a charm.Made of very soft slick material, has a "rattle" sound when touched or moved and the silicon tips are extremely soft and pliable. So soft that the nubs and tips will not hurt if they sling their hand and bop themselves. They can make a fist inside the mitten or leave their hand open - it is very versatile. The wrist has adjustable velcro to be as snug or lose as each little wrist needs.
