A beautifully finished knife. Extremely sharp edge and well balanced. I would not recommend it for hacking or chopping, unless material being cut was not too hard. For all other general cutting it’s fine. Appreciate the scabbard and it’s multiple mounting loops.

Pros: Beautiful knife; decent price; lighter than expected; best grip of any of my knives; do not recommend for hacking or abuse. Cons: The snap closure on the scabbard nylon strip broke off on first use; replaced it with Velcro. (Could have replaced knife easily but don’t trust the snap no-mo.)

Not sure why I purchased this knife but I like it. It is pretty big, and came sharp. Honestly, I haven’t used it for much of anything but I will occasionally strap it to my belt and walk around the house until my wife rolls her eyes at me. Then I’ll go outside and throw it at a tree, chop some weeds or a bush, check the area for any bears that are looking for a fight, build a fire, drink some bourbon and then call it a day.

I bought this as black bears have begun showing up in areas that I commonly mountain bike. I figure having this is better than having nothing and wanted a longer blade. This knife is well balanced, has some heft to it to make the most of the little opportunity one might have if defending from an animal easily capable of ending it in one rush or swipe. And yes I also carry pepper spray, however to a predator someone biking triggers their predatory response, and they are more determined than a stalking bear.

This is purely a shank - a piercing knife designed for combat. Disregard the "survival knife" in the description - it's nothing of the sort. The tpe handle is okay but not grippy enough for my liking. More like texturized plastic than rubberized which would have been greatly preferred. It's definitely cool looking, but the blade geometry won't lend well to slicing or chopping. The top front is an unsharpened swedge, which I do appreciate - if you want a dagger you'll buy a dagger. This is a single edge knife. The swedge helps to retain tip strength while also allowing for better puncture/penetration. I had no issues with the sheath which I thought was plenty adequate. Had good enough retention without the snap that you could carry it inverted or scout (horizontal) without keeping it buttoned, when you need to be faster. The button is like a sheath safety. You could buy aftermarket attachments (ulticlip, etc.) if you wanted to carry it in other than the standard carry position supported by the current setup. Finally, this knife is quite heavy. At 1.32 lbs it's probably not overly heavy for its size, but the heavier a knife is the more concerned I am with utility and versatility. This bad boy has one purpose, and it would do it well, but that's it. If that's what you need, pick it up! Otherwise, I couldn't honestly recommend.

Ich habe die Version in all black gewählt. Das gelieferte Produkt kam in einer neutralen und sicheren Außenverpackung, die Produktverpackung ("Wolfgangs") war stabil und kann als stilvoll bezeichnet werden. In der Produktverpackung waren noch mehrere ergänzende Hinweise zu Pflege, zur direkten Kontaktaufnahme und weiteres beigefügt. Find'ich gut und hilfreich. Das Messer selbst entspricht vollumfänglich der Beschreibung und den Bildern, es gibt da keine Abweichungen. Sowohl das Messer, als auch die Tragehülle waren in perfektem Zustand: keine Kratzer, Schabungen oder farblichen Abweichungen oder sonstige Beschädigungen. Die Klinge war bei Lieferung gut scharf und sauber. Das Messer wirkt zunächst beeindruckend, allein schon aufgrund seiner Länge, im Verhältnis zu der die klinge dann eher schlank wirkt. Es handelt sich aber eben auch nicht um ein Bowie, sondern wie in der Überschrift beschrieben um ein Jagdmesser. Inwieweit dieses auch für andere "Outdoor"-Aktivitäten als für Jagd (oder wie bei mir fürs Sammeln) geeignet ist, lasse ich mal offen. Anders als ein Bowie, würde ich dieses Messer eher nicht zum Hauen (Fällen) kleiner und mittlerer Bäume so ab 10 cm nutzen wollen. Für andere Tätigkeiten neben den jagdlichen, wie z.B. Schneidearbeiten im Outdoorbereich (Büsche, Taue, Planen, etc.), Feuerholz schieben, aber auch wo eine stabile Spitze erforderlich ist, definitv gut geeignet. Es macht jedenfalls einen stabilen, soliden und gut verarbeiteten Eindruck. Ebenso finde ich die "taktische" PP-Scheide sehr gut. Erfahrungsgemäß sind die sehr haltbar und man riskiert keine Stichunfälle, wenn man z.B. stürzt, da die Messerscheide nicht durchstoßen werden kann. Sie ist gefällig, wirkt gut gearbeitet und qualitativ anspruchsvoll. Über dem Griff ist -natürlich- ein Sicherungsgurt mit Druckknopf. Die Aufhängeschlaufe (Cordura / Nylon?) ist mit der Scheide vernietet und kann direkt als Gürtelschlaufe aufgezogen oder durch eine Kombination von Druckknopf und Klettverschluss geöffnet und somit auch an anderen Tragegelegenheiten befestigt werden. Beim Outdoor-Einsatz aber bitte immer bedenken: um eine feststehende 22cm-Klinge außerhalb befriedeten Besitztums zu führen, sollte man auch immer eine gute Begründung haben, falls es mal amtlich wird... Meines kommt jedenfalls in die Sammlung.

Sehr gut gearbeitetes Messer in einem guten Preis-/ Leistungsverhältnis. Aber bitte daran denken, dass dieses Messer NICHT in der Öffentlichkeit getragen werden darf !!!
