Quick and easy, huge improvement in ride
A local shop wanted $900 parts and labor to replace the struts and shocks on my wife's Grand Caravan. I got the same parts (these struts and monroe shocks for the rear) for about 1/3 their price on amazon (local auto parts stores were cheaper than the repair shop but still higher than amazon). Installation was pretty straight forward and took about 2 or 3 hours. Would have been about an hour but I stripped a nut and had to cut and replace a $10 stabilizer arm and grind off the bolt (adding an extra hour or so for a trip to the auto parts store). There was a little bit of a learning curve on the first side I tackled (including stripping that nut on the stabilizer arm) but the second side took me literally 15 minutes to swap out once I had the tire off. Another $70 for a professional alignment and I had in it about half the cost I would have paid a shop to do it (and their quote didn't include alignment). If you have some mechanical skills, a shop manual (or Haynes, Chilton, etc.), decent mechanics tools, and a torque wrench, this job is really pretty simple. An impact wrench doesn't hurt either but isn't necessary (and might save you from stripping a nut <sheepish grin>. The van sits an inch higher and rides so much better...probably like new but that was 70k miles ago so I guess I'd forgotten what that felt like. Very happy with this product. Great price, relatively simple install, and excellent performance.

Mechanically awesome part!
These were so much less costly than the auto shop on it to charge me... 30%! Four bolts to take off and the same four to put back on. Save myself $1,000 for 1 hour's worth of work. It's good to be a do-it-yourselfer.

Best Strut assembly for Dodge Grand Caravan 2003
Buy it now; don't keep looking; don't go cheap with some off brand or lower price/quality level. Some concerns that I had before receiving and installing these units, Monroe 171572L and 171572R: - will the spring rate match the original OEM? I didn't want something weaker than what I removed. - will assembled quality match/exceed original OEM? YES, YES. The ride quality was restored to better than I can ever remember. The fit-up was as good or better than the original factory OEM units. No more strange noises - very quiet suspension now. The installation details: - I used spray paint to scribe/mark the location of the original unit. This was so that I could install the new units as close as possible to try to match the camber alignment. This definitely helped - I will still go and get the alignment checked/adjusted, and would recommend that for everyone, but I think I came really close, if not nailed it. - I performed this work ( both strut assemblies) together with replacement of L/R sway bar links, L/R axle CV joints, and both sway bar bushings.

Easy and saves money, too!
My Dodge Grand Caravan needed a strut replacement. The auto shop was going to charge me over $500 to replace it. I'm too much of a tight-wad to pay something I feel that I can do myself. I was preparing myself for a daunting task, but then on Youtube I found out about this strut. It was a lifesaver; plus it doesn't cost that much more than a strut without a spring. I was able to remove the old strut and replace it with this on in less than 1 hour. (You spend more time jacking up the car and finding the right tools.) Having the two struts side-by-side it is easy to see that the Monroe strut is much better quality. The greatest thing is that there is no compressing the spring - on either strut! Just pop one out and put the other in. Simple. I would recommend this part to anyone, even if you only have a small experience with auto mechanics.

What happen to Monroe?
I replaced the struts on my 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan 10 years ago. Had no problems. Came time to replace and 3 of them failed. Very noisy. Banging and clicking sounds on all 3 of them. Ride was extremely hard. I had to pay for an alignment every time I replaced them. Absolute waste of time and money. I ended up putting the old ones back on. Ride is now quiet again and back to normal. Except the old ones are worn out. Monroe just want's to keep sending me replacements. No thanks. I can't afford replacing them. I would like a refund. I lost trust in Monroe Quickstruts. I had to write off all the costs for trying to fix them. Switched to KYB. Problem solved.

3+ years & still riding smooth
I was weary of the "Quick Strut" quality compared the more expensive OEMSpectrum Strut Assembly but on a budget & a time crunch I chose these. Now, after more than 3 years they have done very well in holding their own. The ride is still wonderful, soft when needed but road hugging sporty like full time. Its interesting to feel how much of a difference these made compared to the factory original. My only gripe is that after several months when the strut had reached its average settling point it was lower in the front compared to the original struts. Where I was once able to park over top of small parking lot concrete stoppers my front bumper now drags across it. However this is no reason not to buy as the ride quality is still amazing & tight. I recommend without a doubt that these will more than satisfy your needs. I wouldn't look elsewhere.

Cheap is as cheap gets
Spend more for better quality struts. We put these on a 2002 Chrysler Town and country and they do not provide sufficient suspension.
