Well made and a great design. After having tried another big brand distributor that didn’t work well for me, I found this one that works perfectly with Breville 54mm double walled baskets. It offers a minimal adjustment I was needing to evenly distribute without hard pressing before the tamp.

I’ve had this for years and it’s great. It levels out my grounds perfectly before tamping is very repeatable. I enjoy the ability to adjust the leveling depth to ensure the grounds are perfectly spread regardless of grounds.

This tamper is very easy to use and has a perfect weight thanks to the stainless steel build. It evenly tamps the espresso puck, and the 53.3mm fit works flawlessly with my Breville Espresso machine. The puck prep I’m able to achieve has noticeably improved the taste of my espresso. The sleek design is modern, durable, and looks great on my coffee bar.

I have carpal tunnel syndrome and this palm tamper is leagues better than any standard tamper. It has a solid weight to it, the tamper surface is well machined, and the spring pressure is very consistent. It fits in my 58mm IMS basket. At the price normcore offers this, it is definitely the best value spring loaded tamper you can get.

Fits my Gemilai portafilter perfectly. Works as expected, but can be slightly unlevel in tamping. Has a tendency to push the coffee down more on the handle side of the basket. I try to make sure I apply pressure in the middle of the tamper and it seems to make all the difference.

I work in espresso professionally and got this as a tester for ergonomic purposes. It does its job as a tamper and does level with little dusting from it being 58.5mm. The self leveling does work. However depending on my baskets (using vst now) it will.self level where the lowest part of the puck is handle side and highest.part opposite. Not an issue with the tamp but something to be mindful of. Works perfectly well on my gaggia setup...not so much commercial grade. The spring is adequate but i tend to tamp a bit harder on heavy weather days.. Build quality is fine but i would have rather used a regular style tamper. Also palm tampers pretty much need to be self leveling based on the ergonomic nature.

Works exactly as described. Can be a bit heavy but otherwise it is a premium built product. If you have too much coffee in your basket and they're near the rim of it, coffee can get stuck to the sides of the distributor. A little annoying but easily remedied by brushing the grounds back into the basket or by "flattening" the coffee grounds in the basket first prior to distributing.

Works perfectly for Breville barista express portafilter. The depth can be adjusted which is perfect if you don’t do a typical 18 grams.

Had this for a while now, really like Normcore products as they are well built and reasonably priced. I prefer the V wedge shape here vs the fan shape, I feel the V wedge is better for distributing coffee as the V basically does not compress much coffee when you put it on the portafilter, as it has limited surface area. I feel the fan shaped tools compress too much of the coffee. Great tool, well built and well priced. Highly recommended.

This is a great tamper when you’re getting into this rabbit hole that is espresso/coffee making. An issue I was having was knowing how far down to tamp, how hard etc. It was a variable, and variables are bad!! This tamper means I get a nice, consistent tamp every time. Push down and eventually the spring yields. Job done. The tamper itself feels weighty and well made. It even has a little metal “holder” to store it on the side when not in use. Would highly recommend this for anyone starting out on their coffee journey.
