Working great so far. Maybe a bit noisy, but still recommended.
Just got this microwave when our above-range microwave quit. The size is good for our countertop. Before ordering, I marked off the 16" x 20.6" footprint to be sure it was not too big. The inside and turntable are just large enough for a full-size dinner plate, so I wouldn't want to get anything smaller. I never use the fancy programming; I just do timed cooking at high-power almost exclusively. So for that, this microwave is great and easy to use. It seems to heat things a bit faster than the Kenmore Elite microwave that gave out on us. It has a nice appearance in our kitchen. You can turn off the bell/beep, which I appreciate. My only criticism is it is louder than our other microwave -- noise that seems to be from the outer metal casing maybe -- but it's not so bad that I wouldn't buy this one again. All in all, it's a very good microwave and a super value. Minus 1/2 star for noise, rounded up to 5 stars. Now we need to figure out what to do with our dead above-range microwave.

Great Replacement Microwave
I bought this microwave to replace my old one, and I’m very happy with my choice. It heats food quickly and evenly, the controls are easy to use, and it’s a nice size without taking up too much counter space. I also like that it’s quiet and has plenty of power for everyday use. So far, it’s been reliable and has worked exactly as I expected. Overall, I’m very pleased with this microwave and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a dependable replacement.

So good I bought it twice!
This unit has served me well for the past 5 or 6 years (yes, that's about the average lifespan of microwaves these days), and it started making a humming noise after the cook cycle was over. The humming would stop when opening the door. So I knew it was about to fail on me. Everything about this unit is intuitive and easy to use, so decided to order the same one again. When it arrived there were some differences. It has a new type of handle mandated by law, you have to lift up on it like a trigger before the door will open. The new LED readout is white and sharp, the older one was blue and slightly larger and more diffuse I think. But most importantly, the plate spinning transport is redesigned for the better. The old one had that tiny 3-wing thing in the center that interfaces with the plate, and the plate rode on a plastic ring with 3 wheels attached. The metal floor below the plate had a valley that the ring would ride in. EVERY microwave I've owned with that design had the same failure - when cooking moisture collects in that valley and the wheels ride through it, inevitably it RUSTS the paint and leaves an ugly ring that can't be cleaned or spray painted to look new (I tried). This new unit has replaced the tiny 3-wing plate spinner with a large 3-arm spinner with wheels attached, no need for a ring with wheels anymore (see my photo). And it's not down in a valley anymore, so no rust.

Solid heating and quiet operation held back by dark keypad buttons
I bought this Toshiba 1.2 cubic foot microwave to replace our old countertop unit and get reliable heating without losing too much counter space. A standard dinner plate fits comfortably on the 12.4-inch turntable, and the pull handle feels much sturdier than cheap push-button doors. The humidity sensor actually works well for reheating leftover soup and pasta without scorching the edges. I am giving it four stars because it cooks evenly and lets you mute the keypad beeps so the kitchen stays quiet. The biggest annoyance in daily use is the dark keypad with its dull grey lettering against a black background. You really cannot read the buttons in dim lighting without turning on the overhead kitchen lights. The interior light is also pretty weak, which makes it almost impossible to watch food bubble or cheese melt through the dark tinted glass. On top of that, heavy ceramic bowls can occasionally knock the turntable roller ring off its track, though it only takes a second to pop back on.Using this microwave every day for the last few weeks has made quick meals and reheating leftovers simple. It is a great option for anyone wanting dependable 1000-watt power, good plate clearance, and quiet button operation. If your microwave sits in a dark corner or you like watching your food while it cooks, you will probably want a model with backlit buttons and clearer glass. For around one hundred and thirty dollars, it is a dependable everyday workhorse as long as you do not mind the unlit control panel.

A nice microwave
It's quiet and easy to operate. I prefer the handle that needs to be squeezed as opposed to having to remember a code to remove the child lock but someone with grip issues might not appreciate it.

Works great, great value
Burnt some frozen dinner in my work microwave and the smell would never leave the inside of the old microwave so I found this one and it has been great. For the price it can't be beat.

Well built, very quiet
Well built and the perfect size for a small area. It easily holds a dinner plate, or a medium size Corning Ware dish. Warms a cold cup of coffee in less than a minute. It is also very quiet. Highly recommend!

DO NOT BUY USED VERSION!
When I originally bought it used it did not work at all! It made a loud buzzing sound and did not heat up the food at all. When we repurchased it and sent the not working one back we found it’s actually a decent enough microwave however it’s loud! The following is a picture of the second ike that actually works!

Fantastic, and NO BEEPING SOUNDS
I was going through my past orders and didn't realize I hadn't reviewed this yet, which is crazy because I feel like evangelizing about it, I love it that much.I've had this oven for 3 years now, and I couldn't possibly be happier with it. It functions well, it's really easy to use and clean, and best of all NO BEEPING. The silent operation of this oven is its best feature and the primary reason I ordered it. I know most people are probably happy to operate it with the beeping sounds, but if having the option to silence all beeping sounds is as essential to you as it was to me then this is your oven.Once in awhile when the power goes out I'll have to reset the silent mode when I reset the clock, but other than that I never hear any beeping from it whatsoever. Not when the buttons are pressed, not when the cooking cycle is done.I've seen some reviews saying it's loud when cooking, but it's no louder than any other microwave - I don't know what these people are talking about. All microwaves make some noise when cooking.

As good as it gets
We searched endlessly for a new microwave for our new home and happened to come across a Wirecutter article (do a web search for it) where they took some of the most popular microwaves and put them through a ton of tests. The Toshiba models were at the top of the list for even cooking (use potatoes for testing), best popcorn performance with the least amount of kernels left at the end, good defrost performance, intuitive easy to use controls and their one year warranty you supposedly don't send the unit back, rather you provide them with a receipt and they issue you a refund cheque which is much appreciated. So far we love the unit as it's easy for our kids to use as it has that basic 1980's style control layout not one of these new ones that tries to be some science fiction 2120 food preparation units. Popcorn bags come out perfect and reheating food is nice and even. First Toshiba microwave I've ever owned and I don't know I'll ever go back to Panasonic after this.Update April 2024: The unit has now died. It did a bag of microwave popcorn, then another family went to use it and the interior light was going on and off like it was shorting out and the screen was doing the same. Unplugged, plugged back in but same issue. At this point it's faulty and no idea where to begin to try and repair it so off to electronic recycling it goes. Managed to get 4.5 years out of it but not super impressed.

Great microwave!
This microwave has served us well! It heated our food relatively evenly and quickly than our previous microwaves we've owned. But after 5 years, 9 months, and 10 days, it started running by itself when the door is closed without starting it and it won't stop until you open the door. Unplugging it seemed to fix the issue. However, after just a week, it stopped heating food completely at any power setting. After reading about using a microwave at full power all the time for the size of our family, it would only last 4-5 years instead of the expected 10 years. In this case, I guess it has reached the end of it's life. As far as design goes, I wish the plug was flat and angled so that it isn't sticking out of the wall and cable management would be neater. It's a little bit hard to clean the corners because the inside isn't seamless and food sometimes can get stuck in between the seams. Gently getting those out with a brush seems to work for us. Getting the glass tray back on top of the ring with wheels is a guessing game turning it just right until it falls into place on the small spinning mechanism in the middle. The new microwave we got (also a Toshiba) seems to have fixed this issue with a built in spinning platform which removes the guess work to some degree. Overall, this microwave worked really well for us, until it didn't. But such is expected I guess for the way we used it.
