WYZE Wireless Outdoor/Indoor Battery Security Camera, 2.5K HDR Color Night Vision, Integrated Spotlight & Siren, Motion Detection, 2-Way Audio, Alexa & Google Assistant Compatible

I ordered three of these the first day they were available. Set up was a breeze and they are extremely easy to mount. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS and don't attempt to short cut around them. FULLY charge the battery packs PRIOR to starting set up. As expected there was an immediate firmware update during set up that requires batteries to be above approx 30% charge to complete. Connect the cameras to the app PRIOR to mounting in a spot where you have strong WIFI and keep your phone blue tooth signal close. Once this was done I was able to mount two of the cameras closer to the house and one a full half acre back on the lot facing back to the house and pool with NO connection issues. I have had a couple of video captures from the cams not upload correctly to the cloud, but the app actually asked on these if I wanted to assist and report the issues to Waze (gladly, since I assume, again as with ANY new product, they rushed to market and are still working a few app glitches out). Batteries are still holding at 98% with a number of vid captures after a week up now...I do recommend getting their charging dock and myself will look at adding a couple of spare batteries to be able to swap them out. I am hoping they add product line such as the doorbells to this same battery pack line. The image quality on these cam captures is far superior to any of the other cams I have had in the past, altho I am still working out some of my own capture zone preferences. I love that you can link cameras to trigger each other when an event occurs...great feature! Extremely pleased with the cams and will be ordering 6 more today to work on getting the remainder of the property set up! Update: I ordered 6 more of the cams and again setup was easy and straight forward. I have 1/2 acre lot with a mesh wi-fi system through the home and one receiver out mid-lot and was able to place a cam at the rear of the property facing the house. While the 30' capture zone certainly doesn't reach the full distance, I love that I can set to trigger other cams on the property to also record (with the cam pro subscription) when this cam is triggered. Battery life seems to be holding up well, and the ability to monitor each cam is great, since life will be determined by how much triggering and recording occurs on each cam. I do notice a slight delay in cam pro notifying me of a cam being triggered, but nothing more than 60 sec so far. Next is to add a couple of the motion sensor hard wired cams down the side of the house and the entire property should be under surveillance. Happy with my purchase and product!

I have been a WYZE cam customer for a long time. I will say that it’s been a hit/miss with some products by this company.. I hope my review will let you make a more informed choice.. So I will keep my review unbiased and try to focus on specific qualities of this cam.. First thing, this cam is wireless, it will need to be connected to the internet via WiFi and the WYZE app… This camera comes with a battery that can be charged while inside the camera.. OR you can plug a USB-C cord right into the pack- and it does come with a power cord. This allows you to have a little more flexibility on how to re-charge the battery. I have not had any issues with power with my outside cam due to having my camera receiving power from the Wyze Solar Panel ..the cam fully charged in less than a day and has not been under full power since. My second battery cam that was charged via usb-c, I performed a settings adjusted via WYZE app to reduce the power consumption due to the light on this camera being VERY BRIGHT. That seems the have did the trick- cam has been holding charge for 2 1/2 months and can probably go several more since it is now around 50% battery life. The quality of image from this camera is highly detailed and will definitely capture someone in the middle of darkness, due to the highly sensitive sensors that will trigger the light/recording. Camera can also identify what it is, and will send alerts directly to your device letting you know what triggered the cam. Features I use included with the WYZE cam app are the alerts, and the app offers a paid version of cloud storage to gold up to 2 weeks of event video clips. The free version gives users up to 2 weeks of saved images, but will still allow you to access recorded content as long as you have a memory card installed on the camera. I, personally- like to just record my own clips which the app also allows me to save and share. The barrier/zone selection gives users a way to select an area that will trigger the camera- this comes in handy if cam faces out towards a street with high movement/traffic. This also cam lets you talk to whoever is on the other end of the shot, which makes it easy to communicate with someone knocking at the door. Sound quality is clear and very loud- no static with a great internet connection, in my experience. I enjoy using this camera as a way to monitor deliveries and visitors to my home. The bright flood light also makes it much easier to see while trying to unlock my door at night. I keep a second one in the backward, currently unmounted due to not having decided if I will be getting a second wyze solar panel, yet.. The mounting equipment the cam has included was perfect.. I had actually purchase a different set of mounts that I ended up not needing .. the ones that come with the camera are great quality and easily installed. A pro AND con is that the camera is not able to pan, so the direction it faces when installed will be the only direction it will face until you move it. If you want a cam that pans/moves while you are away, this will not work for you.. If you are looking for a cam that has a large coverage area and will stay put, this cam will work for you!! For the price, the quality and features of this cam throws the competition out of the water, I recommend this WYZE cam to everyone. I will definitely be buying more here soon. Update next day: I brought the camera into the house overnight, brought the wifi extender closer inside the garage and this morning it seems to be working better and even charging slowly with the solar panel (panel is only 2w so it will take time). Most movement is getting caught by video, there’s only 2 bars even with wifi extender 15 feet away so I have ordered a wifi mesh system to improve the signal. Let’s hope it continues to improve. Still not happy with lack of response from customer support. I have V2 and V3 cameras (been happy except app issues) and thought this a logical purchase to replace my old outdoor Arlo cameras. First, it has trouble getting a wifi signal, it shows 1 bar when outside (Arlo and iPhone in same position is fine with full bars), shows being offline or not connected in the app. Even in the room next to the modem with full bars it will not connect. I cannot live stream keep getting error messages, cannot replay videos when they actually get recorded, the error message is “failed to fetch from iCloud”, will not record video everytime sometimes only a photo when it does detect movement, issues with solar panel not charging but battery on its own will charge so possibly they’re not compatible. Tried reaching out to customer service and keep getting directed to the the chat bot where this camera isn’t even listed for support, there’s a message that Wyze is dealing with “many issues” right now, must be this camera because the forum comments repeats all the same issues plus more. You cannot reach a real person, all messages say to submit a log, this is not support. When I do get an email reply from customer service they only regurgitate the same information found online. It was exciting when this company first launched the first camera but quality and customer service seems to have declined dramatically, very disappointing to say the least. If firmware is not updated soon this camera and solar panel will be returned.

I was not paid for this review. I was not given anything free from Wyze in exchangefor this review, although I happily would. I have used Wyze for years. They are the heart of the ecosystem I use. From cameras, security system, lights, robot vacuum, weight scale, smart plugs, and more, I trust Wyze countless times in my every day life. I knew what to expect from this battery camera when it came on the mail. I was getting a quality product that was going to perform exactly as advertised, no questions about it. That's exactly what I got. Build quality is second to none on this camera. I purchased this camera on the week it was released and has been running outside of my home seamlessly ever since. It has effortlessly endured scorching heat and brutal rain, and when we get snow, I know it will handle that all the same. The battery had lasted way lo ger than I expected. I only charged it once when I first got it and it's still at 65% at the time of this review. Motion recognition is top tier even at night. And the spotlight attached in this camera is powerful, flooding my half acre back yard in bright light as if it were daytime. Connecting and setting this camera up is something a toddler could handle. Wyze never ceases to amaze with how they manage to deliver quality built products that offer reliableusage and seamless setup and usability for a fractionof the price of their competitors. Purchase this camera. You will not be disappointed.

I've had several different WYZE cams around my house for a while now. They include: V3 Pro, V4, Pan Cam 3, OG, OGT, Doorbell V2 and I have two of these. I keep them plugged in. For me the benefit to these cams having a battery built in is as seamless backup should power go out. This has worked on occasion. Unfortunately this model also has its downside: Maintaining connectivity. It's not terrible at keeping it, but occasionally requires a restart. Restarts are fairly quick and usually easy to do remotely. That was not the case however in the most recent occurrence. Both of my Battery Cam Pros lost connection and began flashing their "flood"-lights every few minutes. The fix: Remove my SD cards (to avoid erasure) -> Remove battery for several minutes -> Perform factory reset by reinstalling battery and holding down the red "connect" button inside. It is NOT necessary to delete the cam within the app first; in fact I advise you don't. The initial setup process will commence as when it was new, but once through those pages the app will recognize it again and integrate. Unfortunately it will be placed at the top of the home page above all other cams and any shortcuts. Can simply drag tiles where you may have had them or reorganize at this time. Last: Recheck all settings for the BCPro as some features may have switched to default settings. Important - If an SD card was continuously recording before and is to again, make sure to enable it to do so as it will have switched to motion/event snapshots with a short "max duration" length. Floodlight on via motion detection will have been enabled as well as front of device indication LEDs-on. This really wasn't too had to do, but I am very familiar with these WYZE cams & app at this point. I have no idea why this happened to only these cams; left puzzled there. Really hope WYZE can get these to operate more reliably without having to buy some new future version. I would like to see the next rendition (HIGHLY desire in-app choice & control over floodlight KELVINS!), but I also expect the BCPros I have already invested in to continue to operate well beyond new releases!

I bought this for my Airbnb outside on our deck and it works great. Great video quality & good battery life. I’ve seen the reviews on the battery life and I have to assume they’re using settings that drain it. I’ve had no problems. I have it set to only record with motion events and the spotlight set to about 50% (also triggered by motion, I don’t use sundown) and I only have to charge it about every 2 weeks with constant guests coming in and out triggering it. It does take several hours to charge so I just bought a 2nd one that I swap out and let the first charge while I’m doing a turnover. I’ll also say that the only thing I’m disappointed with is how long it takes to start up the live video feed, but I don’t know if that’s just my internet connection. It’s super easy to mount- love that. All in all, very worth it and it looks so much better not being plugged in. I love that if I ever do want it plugged in, say to have continuous recording with an SD card, I have that option as well. I definitely recommend it- just play around with the settings if you’re having reduced battery life. AND BUY A 2nd BATTERY! I’ve got it mounted to the window frame in the picture.

Wow, a big tree came down, took out the powerline and took out the pole my cam was attached to. Like it had scraped off an ear. Dang it, it was no longer connected. While moving some of the limbs, I could see a light. It was my cam. Seemed to be OK, just lost connection, still had half of the base attached. Where the USB C power line (to solar panel) was attached, it had been ripped out, but not damaged. I reset it, reconnected, and put it back on the pole, in a new spot. Works great. I have several Wyze indoor cameras set up in my windows and love them. I decided to purchase this one to replace one of my old outdoor cameras. The picture is great but the battery life is horrible! I have it hooked up to a solar panel that I used with my old camera but it will not charge this Wyze camera. I have went through and disabled all the recording features to see if that would help and it doesn’t. Even set the recording length to the lowest and the cooldown time to the highest! The battery doesn’t even last a day. Using these setting is pointless to have this as a security camera. I guess I’m going to have to set a long cord to plug it in to an outlet which defeats the point of having this camera. If you’re a fan of Wyze like I am I recommend avoiding this model!

I’ve been using this Wyze camera for a while now, and it has been working flawlessly. The picture quality is excellent, even at night, and I appreciate receiving motion alerts right on my phone. Installation was simple, and the camera feels well made. It’s perfect for monitoring both inside and outside the house. For the price, you really can’t beat the quality and features.

Great battery wifi camera. Battery holds a charge for a long time over a month and still has 4 bars. Clear picture, easy setup.

Wyze are great products, but now i feel scammed, ordered yesterday and now Wyze has them on Black Friday sale cheaper!!! And with postal strike on... if i apply for refund, they charge you cost of shipping and wont credit my card till they receive them back which is sort of understandable,,, BUT that may take forever with postal strike and to reorder means I'll be paying for 2x's till refund processed... they should have sold them as per the black friday promotion

Camera image quality is great although it does not record automatically even though you have the setting set for motion. Also, battery leaves a lot to be desired! It definitely does not last 6 months! It went down to less than 50% in less than a week! Also, don’t use any “gorilla” type tape to secure it outside!
