Rumpelstiltskin (My First Fairy Tales)

In many Rumpelstiltskin renditions, the miller's daughter and Rumpelstiltskin make the deal that he'll get to keep her baby before he spins the last batch of straw into gold. As are many fairy tales, this doesn't sit well with young preschoolers who are more sensitive. In this story, Rumpelstiltskin asks for her baby after he spins the straw into gold, and she replies no. And then the deal that she has to guess his name continues. I like this version of the story where the baby-stealing deal is presented afterwards, not beforehand.

My 5 year old loves these fairytales! They are well written and have engaging illustrations.

Bought this for a baby shower (we had to bring our fav childhood books) and it was just like I remembered. The illustrations were also great and any kid would fall in love.
