It does prevent scratching, but all sides need to be covered. The product claims it is for training and can be discontinued after cats have learned. My cats don’t learn. I leave these on and replace when they get too dirty. Lots of scratching posts near the chair and couch also helps

I read complaints about the smell. You smell it as you unroll the tape but honestly I never smelled it afterwards. It only took a few times for my cats to touch the sticky and eventually they just stopped. It worked so well in the living room I made a second purchase to save my chair in my room! Now they don’t even try to scratch on the new furniture. This has been more effective than any spray. Now if only I could find something to keep them off the counters for good

My cats have avoided the corners of the couch like it’s water! They have totally worked. My only concern is what will get stuck to the outer sticky film. So far doesn’t look bad, or dirty. They are a great size and doing what they are supposed to do!

I just put on the corners of my furniture where my kitty likes to scratch last night. Time will tell how well it works!

We have not used this product yet as our new kitten has not taken an interest in scratching furniture. But we have it just in case!

… especially if the back is in a corner. Our cat still kept trying to scratch and would pull the corners down, occasionally, but this has worked better than anything else so far.

I used this on the base boards and the top of my head board. My cats love scratching these areas. I was worried the tape was too sticky and would hurt them at first but it didn’t! It deterred their scratching right away and it’s the first thing that worked. Great customer service too. They send you an email right when you receive their products checking in and I really liked that. No one does that anymore. Highly recommend the product and company!Thank you!

Took a little work to get this to apply successfully. before you peel off a whole bunch. peel a 1-2 in. then get the backside started before you peel the rest of the roll that you plan on using. Otherwise you will never get the back side paper peeled of. Once I did that I could peel off as much as I need from the roll. apply to furniture, then peel back the paper from the other side. Worked great from keep the cat from scratching furniture. She has moved over the scratching pole which we placed next to the couch. We only needed one application. It's sticky, might not be the best for leather. try a spot before you place it on your furniture.
