Dimensions: Eye - 18mm (w) x 29mm (l) Main Unit - 50mm (w) x 29mm (l) x 20mm (h) 85cm lead running from the main unit to the eye. What does it do? Our magic eye allows you to control TV channels and settings on your satellite box from another room in your house. How do you use it? A coaxial cable should be run from the RF2 output on your satellite box to the additional TV where you wish to watch TV programs. The main unit of the magic eye then connects between the coaxial cable coming from the RF2 output on your satellite receiver and the aerial socket on the back of your TV. The coaxial cable provides a 9V power supply to the magic eye from your satellite box. The 'eye' should then be positioned on top of your second TV or in view of where you will be pointing the remote control so you can control your satellite box without leaving the room. I have my Sky Box in the lounge in a TV cabinet with the doors closed and I can change channels no problem through in my kitchen which is in another room completely. Very happy with this product. Providing that your SKY box is connected to your aerial splitter via its RF2 output AND that your splitter has DC pass, you do not need anything else. Your SKY box will send power from its RF2 output, through the splitter to this magic eye. The magic eye will then receive an IR signal from your 2nd TV's remote and feed it back down the coax cable, through your splitter, and into your SKY box. I hope that this helps. The only purpose of the Magic Eye is to allow you to remotely operate a Sky box for a second TV, which will show the same programme as the "master TV".
