Best investment I've made in a long time. And so worth it!
I finally broke down and purchased this air threaded surger. And I love it โค๏ธ ! I have a singer surge machine that I've had since 1988 I believe and although she still runs like a bear, it's to difficult to thread. My eyes and arthritic hands aren't what they used to be. So if your like me and getting older this machine is a lifesaver. I can't believe it took me this long to buy one. It's rather pricey but so worth not having the headaches of threading a surge machine. I'd give this one 10 ๐ rating if I could.

Beautiful machine
I sewed some rolled hymns today, and they are very very nice. Love the machine.

Great 4 Thread Serger. I love the air threading loopers - cutting-edge. Needle threader is SO SO.
I have been using sergers since childhood, so I am not new to threading loopers and can do it rather fast. Let me tell you: to be able to thread loopers just by pushing a lever is a game changer. This technology is not new, been around for years, and I have been wanting one of these type of sergers ever since I've heard of it. Prior to this machine I had 2 other sergers: 1. Singer Professional 5 (5 thread serger that is for some reason currently depicted in this listing - that is not what you are getting here) 2. A very old Janome 134D serger that is the same in functionality as this one (4 threads, and can do exact same stitches) but manual threading for both, loopers and needles. I will be comparing the new S0700 serger to this Janome one. Even with my experience, I still dreaded threading loopers - takes time away from sewing. This is so much simpler with the new S0700 serger. Now, the air threading system is not perfect on this serger, few times I tried it and the threads did not go far enough into the loopers. I found that you really need to leave a fairly long enough thread hanging just before you insert it into the little holes. Ever since I started doing that, I had no issues so far. You can watch my video for the steps required to thread the loopers. The automatic lopper threading is what mainly differentiates this serger from my old Janome one. But another, minor difference is the built in needle threader. I find serger needles more difficult to thread than the regular sewing machines so I was really excited that this new serger has a threader. It is OK. Honestly, I expected better. While it functions - it does thread the needle, the whole mechanism is clunky, does not glide up and down smoothly and you have to set your machine into a threading mode to use it. I find that part particularly cumbersome as you need to take the waste tray out, open the panel where the loopers are, set the lever switch to threading position and turn the handle until the dash mark lines up with the guide. I understand why this needs to be done - the needle has to be at a proper height for the threader to work. But maybe they could have put the lever switch on the outside of the machine to make it more streamlined. But more than anything, in addition to all the extra steps, each time I use the needle threader, I feel like it is about to break. As far as performance, both sergers perform comparably. I always feel like older machines are workhorses so I expected the new Singer to be inferior in stitch quality and overall performance. But I was pleasantly surprised. With proper tension, the stitches look beautiful. I tried several stitches so far and was happy with all of them. I did find the tension disks a little loose to my liking. In most of the stiches I have tried, I had to set the looper tensions a little tighter than the recommended values. It is not a big deal to me, after all, those settings vary from fabric to fabric and type of thread. I always do a stitch test prior working on a project. One thing I noticed is Janome lighter in weight (~8 lb) and has suction cups on the bottom to prevent it from moving. When the suction cups are not properly adhered to the surface, that machine can hop off the table. This Singer one is a tad heavier (~13 lb) and just has rubber feet. It did not budge off my table even for a half of centimeter. The accessories this machine comes with are bare bones, but are fine - just the standard screwdrivers, spool holders, extra needles, etc. They are depicted in one of my pictures. The machine comes with a soft vinyl dust cover and I am happy that the waste container is included as well. Typical high end models either don't even have one or have to be purchased separately. I was hoping that this serger came with different presser feet like my Singer Pro 5 came with, but it did not. Unfortunately the Pro 5 presser feet do not fit this new machine either. Despite some negative aspects of this machine, I am very happy with this serger, especially its air threading capability. I only wish the needle threader was better - I took 1 star off for that. In conclusion, move over Janome, this serger is here to stay.

Great machine
I've owned "sergers" in the past so I began my experience with previous knowledge. First impression; this machine is solid, yet compact as you'd expect, with a large waste tray. Included are many accessories, including tools, extra needles, brushes, etc., easily stored in the accessory box. Also included is a machine cover. As instructed, the machine was worked on scrap fabric to rid any oils that may have remained. I did not find any oil. The easiest way to thread this machine was simply to attach new threads to the existing remnants with a knot but I wanted to learn the correct way so I pulled them out. Threading a serger has always been a tedious, frustrating experience but this machine has made that task much easier. There is a Looper Threader Lever that makes the entire process simpler for threading the lower threads. It was a bit clumsy at first but once I figured it out it was ridiculously simple. There's no winding of threads around tricky angles or tiny, hidden areas; just drop the thread in and the Looper Lever does the work for you. The double needle threader for the upper threads was a bit awkward, too, but once you get the hang of it, it is pretty simple. This machine sews beautifully on all thicknesses of fabrics. It is quiet, smooth, and the fabric is trimmed without any loose threads. Waste falls directly into the large tray as you sew. Everything about this machine is convenient and precise. This Singer Serger Sewing machine lives up to its reputation as a reliable, solid machine.

Gorgeous threading
I am an amateur sewist, so this was a big step up for me and I was honestly intimidated by it for the longest time. However, when I finally opened it and took the time to learn the basics, this has made sewing even easier for me. I was working on a basic machine prior to this, so this is by far the nicest machine Iโve used. It took me a little time to get the auto-threading down. I had to watch a couple YouTube videos to get better at it, but itโs really simplified things for me now that I know how to do it. The sewing itself is flawless and absolutely gorgeous. I love blending the different color threads to make beautiful seams on the clothing I make. This machine will more than pay for itself in the clothing I make for my family alone - in addition to the gifts I am able to give to my friends. If you sell your creations, then this is an even wiser investment. This machine even includes an in person training session, which I have yet to use yet but I plan to soon! How cool that you can have someone teach you how to use it locally!! Iโm very excited to become a better sewist using this machine.

Great gift idea.
Perfect gift for the stylist or designer in your life, or anyone that loves sewing. This is a great price for the brand name you're receiving. Assembly will take some time. Great new features to work with.

Game changer!
I have picked up sewing as one of the winter activities during Covid. I love altering and upcycling clothes I don't wear anymore and being able to have clean edge is one of the things I couldn't do. I read the reviews (by certainly more accomplished sewers and all good) and watch YouTube tutorials for this serger. I will need to get more spools of thread as I realizes it required 4 at a time. I am excited to get my hands on!

WOW
This is the most advanced and amazing serger I have ever owned because I've never owned a serger but always wanted one. It's very easy to load & operate. Does not jam. Nice bright white. Great for finishing seams and hems. Many options of applications.
