This drive does not slow down even when completely full.
Used 3rd party software to check the integrity of the the hard drive and there were no bad sectors/blocks/bytes. These enterprise drives usually are only written on once, and spend the rest of their lifetime reading data.. meaning that they are in excellent condition and will usually outlast a brand new consumer grade drive. Been using this in my plex server and its been on for over 60 days straight with zero issues.

Impressive Performance and Reliability
As a recent purchaser of the Helium Platform Enterprise Hard Disk Drives for my customized computer, I am thoroughly impressed with their performance and reliability. These drives have seamlessly integrated into my system and have exceeded my expectations in terms of speed and durability. Their high-density storage and optimized data transfer rates ensure efficient operation, even with heavy workloads. The helium-sealed design not only enhances reliability but also contributes to quieter operation, which is a bonus. Overall, these drives have proven to be a valuable addition to my setup, offering the performance and reliability required for my demanding computing needs. Highly recommended for anyone in search of top-notch storage solutions for their enterprise setup.

Bad firmware on multiple drives, won't even show up in the bios.
Recertification can't fix crap design. Multiple of these drives failed to even start to spin up, or even show up in the bios, of my main computer. One did work with a spare NAS I had sitting around, but when the drive's firmware isn't even recognized by all motherboards -- you know you're dealing with a BAD refurbishment process.

serviceable drives for a raid6 nas
Bought these a while back as a pair after I had a disk failure on my synology. Gained considerable space and hammer them 24/7 with i/o without issue so far. Don't let "refurbs" scare you off. These are good drives, and previous refurbs I've bought have also been just as dependable as fresh buys.

A little confusing - but does work! Inexpensive mass storage
Item description is simply WRONG: "Bare Drive Only, Single Pack, (No Screws, Cables or Accessories included)" When I unpacked it (very securely packaged, btw), there was a cable included. I only glanced at it and set it aside, as the description had very clearly said no cables were to be included. What's more, I only wanted to replace an existing SATA drive with this one, so any required cables were already in place. Hooked up the data and power - nada. Win11 wouldn't see it, BIOS wouldn't see it, no indication the drive was even spinning up. Read a few reviews - a disproportionate number of DOAs. Hmmm. Tried it in another PC by replacing an existing, functional SATA drive. Same outcome. Apparently DOA. Took a look at the cable which had been (superfluously?) included. It was a power converter cable from traditional IDE power to SATA power. Rummaged around to find a legacy 4-pin IDE power cable in my bag of power supply adapter cables. Wired this directly from the power supply to the converter cable and plugged the converter cable into the SATA power port on the drive. Bingo! All it would have taken is for the seller to include a small piece of paper annotating the need to USE the included converter cable - and a correct description on Amazon in the first place. I know HD manufacturers do this, but when you buy a 12TB drive, it instantly sucks part of the joy away when it formats down to 10.9TB. That's a BIG conceptual "loss".

Exactly as described
I ordered 6 for a 4 bay NAS figuring at least one would be DOA and to keep one as a spare since it was such a good price. 1/6 was DOA sounded like maybe an actuator was bad tough to tell if it was due to shipping. They are shipped in antistatic bags in plastic shock resistant harddrive caddys in a cardboard box. SMART data is consistent with their description. Lowest time on for me was 29000 hours average seemed to be around 32000. Power cycles were low on all about 20. Extended tests on the 5 working drives all showed healthy without any bad sectors or incorrectables. Great deal for enterprise drives with a great warranty. These work well for those that have some fault tolerance so that if you do need to use the warranty it’s not a big deal. At 5 years I am expecting to RMA at least 2 but that is not a problem with my fault tolerance. I’m still spending much less money than buying new. Thanks goHarddrive!
