Berghaus were more expensive than the other alternative I tried Columbia Woodburn but they were far more comfortable although the extra half size made all the difference. Having now tried them they are certainly waterproof and the laces do not come undone. One bonus benefit that I wasn't expecting was their secure grip on ice, obviously not as good as crampon attachments but by far the best normal shoes I have used on an icy road / path.

Well made of course, very comfortable

I've been through 6 different pairs of good quality walking shoes from bona fide manufacturers and each cause pain to the back of my ankle. These have been perfect! I've already covered over a hundred miles in them and they are super comfortable! May even buy a second pair ready for when these ones wear out.

Bought to go on holiday with in October, so not used yet. I like Berghaus, my last pair of Berghaus trainers have lasted nearly ten years, tread on the soles is wearing out now, so I bought these as a replacement. Got the green and black (unpopular colour ?) at half the price of the other colours £65.00. Will update again after I have started wearing them

Firstly, this is no way the fault of Amazon. Their returns policy is excellent. Secondly, in support of my case, I can categorically state that I have bought shoes from Amazon many times. Always at size 10 male and never had a problem. I bought a nice pair of walking shoes by Berghaus. Size 10. No way were they size 10 (UK). I could not have walked to the bathroom in them. They were ridiculously undersized. Smaller than UK 9. So I returned them and the quite brilliant Amazon computer sent me the requested change of size to 11. No change. The size 11 were probably 9.5. No way on this earth am I a size 12. So both pairs have gone back. A pity as the shoes were good - vibram soles - smart shoes. Sorry, Berghaus but you need to address this. Take care people.
