Bad design
You CANNOT turn off the motion sense feature on these lights so be aware. I would look for a similar light that let's you turn off the motion sense but I would not reorder these until they add that feature.

Good idea, poorly executed
I really want to give these 5 stars but they have a few issues I can’t ignore. The concept is great… night lights/emergency lights that can be removed and used as flashlights, and in general, they do just that. They look good and in addition to the charger/mount, they also come with a stick-on magnetic mount for use when off the charger. They turn on when the power goes out or they’re removed from the charging base. When dark, they activate with a motion sensor, which is where the problems start.First, there’s no way to shut them completely off so they can be used on-demand as emergency lights. In a bedroom or somewhere where you want occasional darkness, they turn on at the slightest movement. The documentation is poor (see picture) and the switch has different functions when the light is in the charger or removed. When removed, it cycles the front flashlight modes or switches to the area light. When in the charger it is supposed to switch to a dim night light mode, but this function is erratic.I’ve salvaged my set by using a few as rechargeable motion lights inside my dark cabinets, and covering the motion sensors with black tape on a few more to use as true emergency lights.

Simple and versatile; plug them in and forget them until they're needed.
We wanted to use two as dark activated nightlights, one as a standby flashlight, and the other three as passive lights that would come on in case of a power outage. While we received one apparent non-functional 'dud', the rest are serving their purpose well in those very capacities.I would have liked a toggle for the motion detection, as there doesn't seem to be a way to opt-out of that feature when and where you want. Aside from that, these are simple and easy.
