Q: Is this an authentic Creality product or a knock off?

Authentic. There is no difference an anyway from the piece that came with my Ender 3 Pro and this replacement, but I doubt Creality actually makes any of these magnetic pads.

Q: The description says "magnetic", but the specifications clearly state "glass". what would i be getting?

magnetic self adhesive sticky magnet base and a flexible build surface that is easy to release from you have to still do due dilagence in leveling bed, proper temps ect. and proprely sticking magnetic without leaving unstuck places but once you get used to it you'll love it

Q: Is it possible to only get part b? I need a replacement.

Q: Do you have to put the adhesive back onto the metal heated plate? Couldn't you just place the top magnet part straight onto the heated metal plate?

It appears that the top sheet isn't magnetic (or it's super weak) because it doesn't stick to the heated metal plate. That was the first thing I tried, and became obvious that the adhesive back is needed. You should also note that the adhesive back and the plate have an orientation. If you rotate the top plate 90° compared to the adhesive plate, you'll notice that the magnet is much weaker. Bear this in mind when figuring out how to attach the adhesive plate.
