Dry:Soon 3-Tier Heated Clothes Airer & Fitting Cover Pack

Like many have found, this is mainly a good piece of kit. We got one with the cover which defo seems to help. The only issue we have found is that the bottom rail does not dry clothes very well if they are just hanging over the rails. We have found that if we lay socks / underwear on the bottom rail, they dry well. You can get nets that cover the rails, but we've found these are not required. We have not figured how much it costs in electricity yet, however with the cover on, if you leave it on over night, the clothes are dry, and the room its in is also warm. We have had no incidence of condensation or mold formation. The dryer itself folds away nicely. The cover can be unzipped to cover the whole kit, or it can be zipped up to cover the kit when its folded away.

This product does precisely what it says on the tin. It’s perfect to finish off line dried clothes that have a wee damp left in them or clothes that pick up a bit of damp as evening comes on. Last night was the first time I put laundry directly from washer onto dryer (without hanging out at all); the clothes were warm and dry in about 7-8 hours. I really like the way this drier folds down to a nice neat pack and fits in a corner; it goes up just as easily. The price per hour is more like 10P but that’s still a bargain compared to a tumble dryer.

Favourite purchase of the year so far, has some issues, although this is perfect for my small household. Drys a 6kg load of washing overnight. For those that are complaining that the dryer does not 'dry quickly', I believe that they are approaching the premise of this dryer incorrectly. My flat is too small for a tumble dryer, has no outdoor space, and as a result, I am used to purchasing INDOOR AIRERS, in order to dry laundry. In comparison to an indoor airer, there is NO CONTEST, the DrySoon dries a 6kg wash load, much more quickly, than an unheated standard airer. For those that are comparing the airer to a TUMBLE DRYER,...what do you expect? The airer will NOT dry as quickly as a TUMBLE DRYER, just as handwashing a 6kg load of washing, is unlikely to result in clothing that is as clean and 'wrung out' as clothing from a washing machine! I am surprised that so many comments on both this, and Lakelands website appear to be expecting that! There does need to be some strategy into how items are placed onto the airer in my opinion: - larger, bulkier items should be placed at the top, where the bars get the hottest, and where (depending on how clothes have been placed) items can benefit from the rising heat of the lower rails. - small items/undergarments, should be placed on the lower rails, as they do not require as much heat, and are light enough, to allow heat to 'filter through' to clothing on the upper rails/bars - if possible, try not to 'overload' the airer, leaving some bars free, in order to provide heat to the remainder of the wash load - BRILLIANT for drying clothing that should not be placed in a tumble dryer; I have had great success with drying sports clothing/shirts, that should NOT be placed in a tumble dryer - Use with a slightly open window or dehumidifier, to assist with any possible resulting condensation (IMO) For those that are saying the airer takes days to dry clothing, I believe that you are overloading your airer, and not leaving enough space between the bars. I have successfully dried adult sized onesies and fluffy dressing gowns (again, items that should not be placed in tumble dryer) in approximately 4-7 hours, so I am unsure how many, are loading their airer, to be unable to dry a 'normal' load of washing within '3 days'?! Negatives: - The plug/lead is WAY TOO SHORT, and Lakeland should address this, as unless you have a socket that is VERY close to the floor, then an extension lead is ESSENTIAL. I am unsure whether Lakeland has designed the item in this way for safety or design purposes, but either way, it is unrealistic for how several houses/flats are built in the UK, and I am certain that many people are using this appliance with an extension lead, particularly if they do not want to encourage any damp within their walls - From my experience, the lower bars DO NOT heat up to a particularly hot temperature, and although I know heat rises, it appears IMO, that there is either an issue with the lower bars, or DrYSoon should think about redesigning the appliance, so that the lower rails are placed higher, in order to benefit from the greater heat supply that the upper bars have. When I contacted Lakeland regarding this, they did suggest that there may be a problem with the item I have been supplied, although I opted to hold onto the airer, as I was aware that it had been out of stock for weeks on the Lakeland website (I purchased the item in October), and is currently out of stock at the time of this review (December) it is by chance, that I found the item on Amazon, and placed an order, as it does not appear to have been restocked/available since; also, Lakeland were unable to confirm whether the item was actually faulty or like this by design - a cover (IMO) is ESSENTIAL, in order to make full benefit of the appliance, and for what Lakeland are charging for the item, the cover SHOULD have been included with the item and original retail price AS STANDARD (IMO), I happened to purchase the airer and cover as a bundle, and I am so glad that I did, although I have heard that many have had success with using a large duvet cover over the airer, IMO, I believe that the airer works better with the 'vents' that the cover provides - The bars and brackets are VERY light, and although I am aware that this makes the item very easy to move around, and can be a bonus, it is WAY too easy, for the bars to get bent out of shape by slight knocks - It is fairly easy for smaller items to fall through the lower bars, although I am aware that Lakeland sells additional 'small item shelves' and pegs. I believe, again, that these items are slightly overpriced, and may be useful, although not essential To summarise, I am very happy with the item, essential for drying clothes in the winter if you do not have access to a tumble dryer, many of the accessories are overpriced

Excellent energy saving clothes dryer. I put it on at night and wake up to dry laundry. Great for clothes and towels. You do need to fold larger items and alter them while drying. The frame doesn’t feel that sturdy but it’s good enough to do the job. The power cord isn’t very long so I use a short extension lead. Overall I’m extremely pleased with my purchase.

This is a much needed addition to inside drying. Some items simply can't be tumble dried, so this is needed, I bought it with the tent cover, to keep in the warmth and I leave it overnight, about 12 hours in total and the clothes are dry. The tent is vented so moisture evaporates and I have had no problems with condensation. I find that if you are drying towels, it is better to fold them and lay them flat on the section of dryer, yes it reduces the overall drying space but they dry. I do have a 1600 spin washing machine so that also helps. I have also dried delicate items such as very fine material dresses and they are absolutely fine, the dryer gets toasty warm not scorching hot. It is also going to be nice come the colder months as it warms the room nicely. I dry clothes in the airing cupboard with the hot tank and I would say it does as well as this. I would recommend.

7 months in, through winter and going into summer, the DrySoon 3 Tier airer (with the use of the cover) is an okay heated clothes airer. The pros: The 3 tier set up enable a large amount of laundry to be done. It is very easy to assemble/disassemble, so storing it away as a flat rack is a quick affair. The cover shape is very well designed and placement of the cover onto the rack is very easy to do. The cons: Hot air rises. Therefore clothes at the bottom of the rack will not dry completely. This airer unfortunately does not address this issue too well. During winter overnight dries, the clothes at the top will be fully dried, the ones at the bottom will not and it is not close to drying either. This means that you would have to switch the bottom clothing to the top to enable them to dry, which almost feel like doing laundry twice. This can definitely be solved by allowing the bottom clothing to have more contact with the airer, but that itself reduces the number of space for drying.

Great quality, plenty of space, dried all my thick, damp towels a treat, left airer with cover on overnight, approximately 7 hours. Wish I’d invested in one of these years ago! I NEVER write reviews as can’t be bothered but this product really deserves a great review.
